Happy 1st night of Hanukkah! (tonight)
Merry Christmas (tomorrow)
Happy Kwanzaa (Monday)
Happy Yule (started the 21st but according to Google continues until the 1st, so technically I'm not late)
Happy Belated : Milad un Nabi! (totally missed that one, it was earlier than last year)
and belated Festivus! (yesterday)
Happy anything else you might celebrate!

As for Idol, we celebrate the day that Santa brings me presents! Not you. Presents are only for *good* people, not damn hippies!

Happy Present Weekend to me!

How is your "extended weekend" going?

It's 75 degrees and muggy as hell. Christmas in Louisiana. :)

There's a flock of those birds jabbering outside. That's Louisiana Christmas too. (think Steel Magnolias)

I had stuff I was going to say yesterday. I don't remember what it was now. blahblahblah

date of Christmas
um... just to make one thing perfectly clear: Christmas starts tonight when the sun goes down. The baby child of winter god was born to a virgin in the cave (and all the animals were polite to him and her) tonight, not tomorrow night. This all happened, of course, in the year Zero.

wait I forgot the star and the shepherds and the three astrologers... no, actually they don't show up until January 6th, after the twelve days. after that we have a few more days to sober up and well...

So you, SO, and the Boyz will be warm, toasty, and full of good cheer!

Snow, snow, snow here - church was cancelled because of snow.

Oh Happy Day! Good Sabbath to one and all!

Hope you get lots of presents, Gary.

Extended weekend is fine. Big snow dump yesterday, last night, and today, so church was cancelled, and it's pretty outside. Not cold, just buried in snow. My apartment is toasty. I have no complaints. (Big smile)

Bah! I say! Humbug! and having so much anxiety about being someplace I don't quite feel like I fit even though I've been assured otherwise and can't stop seething at the presence of birth father (aka el cabrón) for an unsettled dispute he's still trying "to pretend never happened" and finding myself imagining all sorts of horrible things to stay and repeating positive affirmations in my head instead

This is likely much too deep for the green room but what sort of grinch would I be if I did't proclaim that I find all of this good cheer nauseating

My Christmas will be good because I will not be spending it with my birth family. My sisters have pissed me off royally in the past week, culminating in the most depressive infodump this morning about my dad's condition.

This is why I like cats. They keep me up to date on their condition. Hungry? Tired? Playful? Sick? I know immediately. Not like humans who let you know things whenever.

*goes off to watch Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey to acquire a better, more festive mood*

What is this extended weekend you speak of? I had to work today.

Dec. 25th, 2016 01:13 am (UTC)

I mean I worked 6/7 days this past Sun-today.

Off tomorrow because we're closed, but if I hadn't requested off Mon-Thurs you bet your butt I'd be back in at work Monday...

I have no clue what any of this post meant.

I had a birthday, I don't have a PS4... the end.
Dec. 25th, 2016 04:39 am (UTC)

I will have a birthday in less than two months. I will be 62. Hard to believe I survived this long.

I got my kid a bunch of kinetic sand and let me tell you

That is a gift for this whole house full of people with sensory issues. xD He's been playing with it nonstop since we opened up all of his packages.

I got a copy of the board game Scythe. It has fantastic art and awesome components (it's also fun).
