Green Room - Week 0 - Day 2

I voted.

Did you?

Unless of course you're not in the US, in which case - why are you voting? What did you vote for anyway?

I, of course, cast my vote for Biggy Pop.

Regardless of who you voted for this election - I hope that everyone can come together in the coming weeks/months/years and agree that the one *true* threat and the one everyone hates the most *is me*!

I am ruining this country, and will do so for the foreseeable future. You're welcome!

In the meantime, we have topic threads: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/947581.html (newbies) and http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/947738.html (for veterans); a Work Room http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/948116.html Where a question was asked about how to link from a Kindle app. Anyone know?

and of course the Sign Up Sheet - which is still open! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/945807.html People are still trickling in. But I imagine that will increase when I announce the closing date. (which I should be announcing soon)

I hope that your day goes well. Or at least I hope that for some of you... many of you.... um... a couple of you? I hope that maybe one person's day goes well. (it's you. Don't let on to the others)

First? I voted.
Nov. 8th, 2016 02:54 pm (UTC)
I haven't voted yet, but I definitely plan to. I just have to wait for my brother to get done his first round of work, then I'm gonna go.

In other news, I completed my pokedex on Pokemon Go this morning, started an account for me and my son to play together since I mean, I caught them all? Also, he's been playing around on my account and leveling things up that I didn't want to level and using up my stardust and coins and it's just better to give him his own game to play xD. This was a good time to do it, too, because they started another in-game event where there's way more pokemon around to catch.

It'd also be a good learning experience for him and we made it to level 5 and he picked Mystic. <3 I am so proud of my bb nerd.

So today I parked horribly.

I accidentally put my headset (I work in a call center) in my coffee mug.

But, I voted today, so there's that.

Haha! Hope your day improves!

I did the early voting thing so that's been done for a while.
A fairly quiet day here in the snake pit. Hoping it stays that way.
Going to see Inferno tonight. It's getting lousy reviews but seeing it anyway.

Okay, I am slightly confused. I have a strong impression that early vote is available in Russia if you are going to be away on the election day (never had to so I cannot say if they demand proof of that or not).

What is the early voting procedure in the US?

No voting here in the UK, outside of the latest debacle over leaving the European Union. (After the referendum, the government are trying to get on with their -- so far informal -- negotiations with Europe and the rest of the world, and Members of Parliament took them to court saying that we couldn't trigger the formal leaving process without passing it in Parliament, which the court have upheld. Except. The Prime Minister and other senior Ministers are keeping their cards quite close to their chest and have been basically aiming to negotiate whatever deal they can get and then present it to us, without 'interference' from the rest of Parliament. And some MPs are saying "we're not going to vote for it until we know what the terms of the new deals and stuff will be", but Europe is saying "we're not negotiating with you until you actually trigger the thing officially." Etc, etc.) Other than that, we're probably actually pretty united with Europe in wishing all you Americans good luck, Godspeed, and will you please just elect President Obama again already plz? kthnxby /wink/

As for me, I had a driving lesson this morning, which went pretty well, and my Grandad is coming for dinner tonight.

PS. I have a request for a beta-reader up in the work room, if you've nearly finished your own entry and will be sat twiddling your thumbs tomorrow?

It's been fascinating (in a car-wreck way) watching how the Brexit vote is playing out from over here. The company I work for has offices in London and Brussels so TPTB have been following along as best they can.

I voted. Hub is home sick. Fun day. 😝

If he wanted to, would he be able to vote somehow even if sick?

I'm going to be glued to the results
Nov. 8th, 2016 04:42 pm (UTC)

I voted last Wednesday in early voting.

Maybe going to an election gathering this evening. Dependent on if PT says I can drive.

I stayed up too late last night and woke up too early today because I had a headache.

I'm doing my very best to avoid election discussion of any kind.

Nov. 8th, 2016 05:47 pm (UTC)
I'm with you. I voted and am not listening to anything election related. I'll hear the results when they are final. I don't want my nails to be a mess!

Write-in Bernie Sanders?

Bad joke?

Hi! I'm alive? Yeah that's a question mark. I am excited to see the results of this election, doh. I faxed in my absentee on Friday since I didn't even get my ballot until either Wednesday or Thursday. So there's that.

Can I still join? I'm going to pledge my allegiance to the almighty Idol and all that regardless, but I'll be extra sad if I missed a deadline to enroll.

Of course you can still join! Gary hasn't announced when sign ups close yet :)

I voted on Thursday last week. I'd also encouraged all the other people who live with me who are eligible to vote to register, and I'm pretty sure they've both voted now too (one was a mail-in voter like me, so I'm assuming she dropped hers off already; the other walked to the local polling place this morning, which is a church directly behind our house - so convenient!)

I'm glad my husband and his girlfriend decided we would go see Doctor Strange in 3D tonight, because it means I can avoid the Internet when the election results start coming in, and maybe the election will actually be called by the time we get home. Advantage to living in California. hahaha

I got an email from the producer of the Hollywood Improv Festival this morning, building up excitement for my troupe going down there at the end of January. It's looking like it'll be a great festival to be part of. Never thought I'd see the day I'd get to perform in Hollywood! And then the promo page for my troupe went up this morning for the festival we're doing this coming weekend. I can't believe we're already driving down there in 3 days!

I have to wait until after work to vote. My polling place these last two elections is the neighborhood elementary school, which has almost NO parking and in the morning is used... as a school! Seriously, they dropped it out of the rotation years ago, and I thought they'd come to their senses, but no...

SO worried about how this election is going to turn out.

I'm hoping to bury myself in work and a springlike bike ride, and hope for the best.

I voted last week and my husband voted this weekend. (Truly the all-mail voting thing here in CO is a wonder and a joy.)

I just wish there was a button we could push to turn off the ads and the leaflets - our ballots are out of our hands so nothing you say or send changes anything. Maybe we could get pretty kitten pictures instead?

In other news I would like my right knee to stop being wonky. It's not keeping me from running, but it is out of sorts a bit and throwing other things off too. Getting older is awesome in so many ways, but this isn't one of them.
Nov. 8th, 2016 09:30 pm (UTC)
I had someone say the same thing on Facebook about the leaflets last week. Totally agree. What I hate most about that is receiving the SAME ONES at least once a week. Guys, I don't need that many copies of what you have to say. All it tells me is you have a lot of money to waste in order to try and win because you're being seen more.

Last night it was 30F here. This afternoon it's in the 60s. Welcome to New England, LOL.

An advantage of working-at-the-buttcrack-of-dawn is that I get out early enough to enjoy the afternoon. I've been taking The Boyz on what I call "epic walks" hither and tither until my knees cry for mercy. They now obviously see it as A Necessary Thing, so the minute they hear my key in the lock they go nuts badgering me to get changed, put on my sneakers, and get their leashes.

Of course there are times when they must wait. Like right now :)

It's 60 here in the other corner of Massachusetts. Unfortunately I'm here in the snakepit until 3:30. By the time I get home it'll be dark. Possible flakes falling this weekend.

It was suggested I ask this in the Green room rather than the Work room.

I'm trying to use my kindle fire, but the LJ app doesn't HAVE an address to copy and paste. FB has a thing where you can right click and it says "copy link"... but I can't find anything like that.
