There are other times when you think you know what's going to happen and then things change.
This week was a little bit of both of those things.
To call it a "blow" just means that every week until the end is going to be a shot to the gut.
Fortunately, we are close enough to the end that we won't be without these two for long. (Or rather everyone else will be joining them soon!)
Leaving us this week are
Personally, I really enjoyed the entries from both of them - but that's the point we are at, where the best thing you can say is that you were happy with the writing you've done. (Really, that's every week!)
Thank you so much for coming out, and I hope that we will see you in the Home Game!
Comments
Kickthehobbit: You amaze me with the quantity and quality of what you can invent, create, and produce in a shockingly small window of time. It's truly impressive, and I love reading the words you make. :)
Halfshellvenus: I didn't comment on your work as much as you commented on mine, and I regret that. You write interesting, charming things, and are so very thoughtful. <3
You guys both rock some serious socks.
Thank you. ♥
I hope both of you continue participating this season and hope to see more of your writing.

Congrats to you both, for a bunch of good writing.
Home Game, ladies. Home Game.
Seeing you back and active in Idol has been one of the best parts of this season, for me. I hope you keep it up—I want to see you in the Top 4! :D
As far as Home Game—it's not super-likely, but hey, watch this space.
I'll keep my eyes open for it.
I think I need to read that. Definitely. :D
A goldmine. :D
Boy, why am I not in chats with Ian and escalating the weirdness to infinity? Who doesn't need that? :D
Good luck to everyone else as you continue forward. :)
You have had a GREAT showing this season! You wrote a ton of pieces I just loved, but the last three were stellar work! Very funny, very tightly written, and truly entertaining.
You are such an amazing Idolar. Your comments are always so thorough and indicative of your close and careful reading.
I think I will never look at cardboard standees the same way again! :)
Somewhere, Bob and Bonnie are off riding the rails together, looking for new adventures... :)
Just. Bah.
Hey, if I had to pick something to go out on, I'm just glad it was this week! :)
So. Before I disappear into the chasm that is preparing madly for a meeting with my PI tomorrow morning to review my dissertation defense date, I want to thank a handful of people. :)
More generally, thank you to everyone that has read and enjoyed what I've done. Prior to writing for Season 9 of Idol, I had never written spec fic, and I'm always amazed and humbled to realize that people like what I have written enough to vote for it and keep me in this long.
I'll be around. I can't guarantee that I'll Home Game (I very rarely want to—and I'm very sorry if the last of the topics I submitted comes up, it's reaaaaally bad), but I will be around, cheering you all on as you get nearer the finish line. :)
Thanks all.
I don't know if I'm going to gather everything into a book (that's a tall order, especially since I've played around with a lot of different ideas!), but I definitely want to try to get some of these into print. Whether I succeed or not is anyone's guess, and I know a lot of them need a fair amount of work (as much as I love what I wrote this week, I keep seeing the little flaws in it whenever I reread it...), but hey, never know unless you try, right? :)
