Green Room - Week 16 - Day 7

I have a bat covered in barbed wire. I called her "LJ Idol".

By the end of the night, you are going to know who is going to be bashed in the head. There is no cliff-hanger, or "fade to black", you are going to *know*! (You definitely won't have to wait until next season!!)

I'm not going to play "eenie meanie" with anyone. I know where that supposedly came from... and even if I didn't, that's not how I do business.

I leave it up to the voters!

So make sure you are reading, commenting and voting for your favorites: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/915342.html

Right at this moment - the "top" of the poll and the "bottom" of the poll are separated by 12 votes. Which, given how close every poll has been this season, you might think "Wow, that's a lot". It's not. 12 votes is something that could very much change during the course of a day. Especially as things get closer to the wire and there are fewer entries to read.

Ah, Lucille. They were talking about it/her showing up last season.

I haven't watched TWD in two seasons. Part of it was because of the now-Ex Housemates who hated blood/gore and us only having one TV. Part of it was me just being zombied out, which is interesting because I'm getting a similar vibe after binge-watching season 1 of Jessica Jones. Sensory overload perhaps?

For me, the issues with TWD are more or less about masochism. How much can a viewer be expected to endure, and likewise....how much pain/loss/grief can a zombie apocalypse survivor be expected to live through?! But yes, the blood/gore aspect certainly seems something that we either acclimate to or becoming overloaded by! Jones didn't work for me. I think some graphics work better in 2D.

I reached my saturation level with Terminus. That was the last full season I watched. I started watching the next season and never made it to Alexandria because I was utterly spent. It ironic that the very loose fangroup we had at work dissolved maybe midway through this last season because the "founders" (for lack of a better term) both stopped watching for the same reason too.

JJ works for me on a number of levels but it's the endurance issue: I'm really not cut out for so much being thrown at me at once. And I hate the fact that David Tennant plays such a believably evil character.

Agreed on JJ, regarding Tennant. Hard to watch him in that role!

I would love to hear the philosophy, the conscious approach that the writers/producers of TWD are bringing to their vision. I don't find the relentless and brutal deaths to be entertaining. It goes beyond "torture porn" really.

Just flying through to say, "Hi," and apologize for not commenting on people's entries. Replying by phone sucks, and I haven't been at my computer. I will post comments when I can. There are a lot of good pieces this week.

I did just try a southern' version of New England cooking though. That was interesting.

Also, Donald Duck dropped my pen. That's right, pens dropped.

I will see myself out now.

...southern version of New England cooking?!?!?

Pray tell, what did you make?
Apr. 4th, 2016 11:25 pm (UTC)
I didn't make it, rather a restaurant was serving lox and grits side by side.

There are some other things, but I am currently drawing a blank. Blame Florida.

I'm really surprised fodschwazzle's super charming story is so near the bottom of the poll! I'd love to prove Gary right and see that one climb the charts before things close out tonight. :)

Especially since poor Fod is sick and can't exactly fend for himself...hard to participate in the Green Room when you're vomiting. :( I'd know.
Apr. 4th, 2016 08:34 pm (UTC)
Seriously!! This is one of my favorites of his ever.

Everyone knows fodschwazzle does the super creepy monsters, and here he is turning that into something delightful.

Thank you so much. Very generous of you.

And while I'm makin' recs - have y'all read impoetry's entry this week? Because it's really good, and again, I'm surprised to see it lurking down there near the bottom.

It's going to be a hard week no matter what, I can tell. That barbed wire bat looks painful.

I don't have a bat, but I can burst your brain just by suggesting you try hard not to hear "The Thong Song" in your head for the next 15 minutes.
Apr. 5th, 2016 01:18 am (UTC)
Um...easy. I have never heard it. ;-)
Apr. 5th, 2016 01:33 am (UTC)
Whatever you do, don't google it.
Apr. 5th, 2016 02:05 am (UTC)
Okay, man. I trust ya. ;-)
Apr. 5th, 2016 02:13 am (UTC)
Yup. It worked. My brains are exploding every once, just sludge and dribear our my earar braja flurp.

Just kidding. I embrace the Thong-thongthongthong--thong song.
