Green Room - Week 9 - Day 3

Earlier today I heard the phrase "get some suction over there or you're going to drown him"

You know what phrase I wouldn't like to hear again? That's definitely one of them. That and "spraying blood everywhere".

It was the first time I've ever been conscious for an tooth extraction - and I had two of them done. I'm not going to put it up there on my favorite experiences.

BUT I did want to stop in Idol so you would know that I was still alive and that the deadline is still very much on...

that and to say "Thank You".

Why "thank you"? Because removing what was left of those teeth is another step in the direction of getting the bridgework I need done - the work that this mini-season helped to make possible. (Raised almost half what was needed, I was able to save the other half)

So congratulations, you almost drown me! :)

and at very least you caused me a hell of a lot of pain! That should give you something to smile about the next time I torture you with deadlines and polls!

So thank you to everyone in this mini-season, or who became a Patron: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70027&ty=h or who uses our Amazon link (I think most people have forgotten about that, but there's a lot of Idol-related books out there as well as just clicking through it to whatever it is you were buying anyway helps) http://astore.amazon.com/li0cd-20

Your deadline is tomorrow night: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/892170.html

and my going back to resting is right now.

Oh lord, extractions. I was with the partner when he had a root canal done, and he was pretty miserable during it—can't imagine being awake for an extraction!

Glad that it means you're one step closer to getting the bridge, though! :)

I was awake for my wisdom teeth back in the 80s. I watched w a mirror, but I like yucky stuff like that as long as I'm numbed up enough. LOL

At the risk of sounding sadistic, I am simply going to say, "congratulations."
I hope you know I mean it in the most loving and appreciative way possible.
Bwa ha ha.

Ouch! Dental pain can be worse than childbirth! Tooth extractions...yuck...not pretty! Glad it's over for you! Enjoy the pain meds! At least there's that! LOL

I was going to say that at least that's behind you now, but then I remembered someone saying that never made me feel any better at all, so I won't say it. What I will say is that I hope the pain subsidies quickly, and that you heal super fast, and that you feel much better really soon.

And that's all I am going to say. :-)

Glad you were in pain?

Somehow that just doesn't sound right.

Got a break to take a peek at the prompts. Wasn't there a post if you were out of the running but felt inspired? I think I saw that last week. Didn't I?

Didn't I?

Ok. I defi8nitely saw that and just scrolled past it. Never mind. I'm going to lie down and wait until the braincells are awake as well. :) tks!

Ouch, feel better soon.

I don't like being awake for stuff like that, but I'm resistant to analgesics and anesthesia so it happens, though I don't tend to remember much, just freak people out when I'm supposed to be out and respond to stuff.

Also I'm a medical transcriptionist, so second-hand I get a lot of horrible phrases. "We then degloved the penis" comes to mind. Also I hate the word "ooze."

You have my sympathies, Gary.
I was "awake" when I had all of my wisdom teeth extracted, plus another tooth that developed an abscess. While novacaine works very well on me, I'd rather that I *NEVER* go through any of that again...

I also recall the first 24 hours after an extraction as being the worst. I hope they pass quickly for you.

*passes on  an ice pack* I guess a lukewarm saline gargles next day onwards should help. Take rest and meds :) Don't be cranky :p

well, that sounds horrifying. *shudder* I now get sedation dentistry for things like that. i had some poor dental experiences in the past. may you heal well.
