I promised an update on the mini-season start date, so here it is:

I have the graphics!

I am writing the FAQ.

We are a go in the next couple of weeks!

LJ Idol is coming back.

Tell your friends. Warn your family.  Prepare your rivals!

Because this is a mini-season like no other...

As is standard for a mini season, there will be a $5 donation per contestant. However, as part of the Patreon incentives, anyone signing up a $5 level has the option of getting a "+1 entry" for anyone who signs up for that before Nov 1st. Which is essentially a BOGO deal. :)    https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70027&ty=h   (or follow the Patreon link on the main page)

I really hope to see you there once the sign ups start!!

Yeah, even if you lose friends over Idol—well, only one person can win, right? :P

If I had my druthers, no one would lose friendships over it... but ultimately, people lose friendships all the time, for all sorts of reasons. If it wasn't going to be Idol, it could have been anything.

Truth. I'm still surprised at how the last season ended. I think at the end something like four or five people stopped talking to me. Still kind of darkly amused by that. :P

I've seen some of those rivalries heal and become friendships again.

It's part of what is interesting watching this thing develop over the last nearly 10 years... you get these slivers of relationships that continue to develop outside of the confines of the game.

Oh sure, and I believe that can happen. Mostly, I look at it and go, "Well...we're how many months post-Idol now, and you've still found different ways to let me know you think I'm awful—hm."

Some things run deep, I guess. I've more or less forgiven and forgotten everything that happened, but...I might be alone in that!
