Green Room - Week 32 - Day 1

You always think "I have more time" only to find those waning days of vacation catch you off-guard and suddenly you are back into the fray of everyday life.

In my case, at least it's only one day before being off for the weekend again.

But that "work part of a week and then have a day and half off" thing really screws with your sense of time!

How are YOU? Are you "back to work"? Did you never leave (because your work is at home or just because your work doesn't have a "downtime") or do you still have a few more days of blessed freedom?

Regardless - your freedom here at Idol has come to an end, and the new topic is up: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/820156.html

along with a Work Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/820280.html

After a few confused emails (and comments) I corrected the topic to add the additional one. So that's already been solved. :)

It's the first "Week" of 2015!! How are YOU going to celebrate?

By being Frist!

Hubby had to go back to work today also. We spent a week in Rodanthe, NC in a fabulous beach house 50 feet from the ocean for Christmas. It has been a great vacation. Getting back to the real world after that is a painful process. ;)

I work retail. =p There is no such thing as holidays.

Then again, I work 3rd shift and my store closes on NYE and Christmas Eve/Christmas night -- though I still managed to work NYE (early early morning of it) and Christmas Eve (I closed the store).

I did have the holidays proper off, though. Just worked the days before and after them. =p

I worked yesterday. It was dead as a doornail. But that's par for the course on New Year's Day.

Judging by all of the food I spoiled out last night, we were pretty dead, too, New Year's Day. (I did work last night). Christmas Day, though? I heard we were fricken busy as hell.

I just.

I'm so glad I didn't work that day.

I get to go back to work tonight and work 36 hours over the next three days.

In general my job is never really off, someone is there 24/7.

Wow, it's been almost an hour since zhent's post.

Housemates are away for the weekend. They took Artie The Excitable Adolescent Boy with them because my boyz get along better with Violet Dog. Right now she's pacing the kitchen wondering where everybody went :/

I think it's funny that Violet tends to stick with me when I'm the only female around. She's got a lot of Ember Dog traits and I've been calling her "my baby girl" :sigh:

I guess no-one else is awake?

From the nonactivity on my FL I'm apt to think either people are socializing elsewhere or they're offline altogether

I have a large FL on Facebook and it's barely moving.

I'm going with "not online" right now.

I agree. My FB feed is pretty dead too, as are a couple other places I frequent.

By writing? Brain muscle flexing and fingerbone exercising!

We work at home. The work never ends. But it gives us freedom, too, so we've played a lot through the holidays. Back to the grindstone for reals this Sunday.

I'm celebrating by getting some lab work done (damn these tiny rolling veins of mine - took three tries before they were able to get blood). Then off to the bank, grocery store, gas station, and Starbucks... maybe not in that order!

Ritual sacrifice.

No work in the past 10 days and off til Monday. Check my work email once every 2 days just to clear out soam and make sure the world is still intact. (It is.) So far this year's been clam chowder, cubanos, and a few bottles of wine. Also a lot of preemptive Spring Cleaning. Also, 2000 on WIP. So I like 2015 so far.

I'm "celebrating" by the discovery that the person who is supposed to doing childcare for me in two days' time misread the spreadsheet and thought it started the week after. ARRRRGH. It's getting sorted, but it's stress I don't need.
