Big world? What big world? My world is all new job, all the time.

What's currently caught my attention is the kitchen manager...who bears a striking resemblance to Snape in a chefs jacket. *ahem*

I am troubled by that 18-year-old's lawsuit. I was just reading several articles about it.

Morning internet peeps. Today is the eldest's 5th birthday and it seems to be business as usual. I have listened to Tangled and Wall-E this morning and Up is about to go on. Oh the fun of having little ones around.

Morning Idolaters!
It's a chilly one here in Georgia. Makes it hard to get the feet out of the covers and on the hardwood floor.
Come on Mother Nature, it's March, bring on the spring!

I'm at work, getting ready for our first storytime today. The theme, you ask? Monkeys of course! Tomorrow we start our March Around the World series though. First stop, Africa!

Where do you work? A library, I'm assuming? My son, age 3, and I go to storytime at our local library every week and have since he was a baby.

Good morning, Green Room. (=

Anyone with experience posting to Livejournal from Facebook, I have a series of questions. ))= I'm having a HECK of a time using a href to link from my Facebook post to Livejournal and having it form the proper hyperlink (it shows the link text and then a paren with the href information behind it with a closed paren), like this: Google (http://www.google.com)

Obviously, this won't be beneficial for the game. Who wants to cut and paste URLs in to read content? Not me! (; Anyone with any insight or advice? I'd be completely grateful! <3

Two things have caught my eye - one, I'm currently in a residency at Atlantic Center for the Arts (http://atlanticcenterforthearts.org/) which is phenomenal. There are three groups here right now - visual arts, writing and music - and there's a "master artist" leading each group. Some workshop time, some collaborations, a lot of time to work on one's own work. Three weeks, housing, all meals, $900 and almost everyone got a half or full scholarship. It's beautiful to have this kind of time and feel cared-for as an artist. Highly recommended!

Second, we often discuss "trigger warnings" as writers and readers, and here's a very interesting article about the proliferation of trigger warnings and whether or not that impacts their effectiveness.

Morning, y'all! Have a cafe au lait with honey.

All right - writing practice, controversy, breakfast...my work here is done.

Sounds wonderful. I had my cafe au lait with maple syrup, a splash of vanilla and a dash of cinnamon. It's good to 'see' you. ;)

We have a topic post!

Yeah, I don't need caffeine now. It's amazing what signing on and seeing a topic post will do for the adrenaline levels. Even though it's the topic we all knew was coming and it's a week that doesn't really count, it was still a little jolt to see it there.

Work, work work!

...18 year old... suing parents...for college tuition?

I just.

What. What.

This world, what is it coming to, etc etc.

I am using a busted netbook while my child is at school to internet/write an LJ post/possibly write my introduction because why not? =p

The fact that I have no luck with electronics means I either to buy a really expensive item so that I take all precautions (see: my phone) in order to protect it from my son, or just suffer with annoyingly broken equipment until he's a little more self-aware of his surroundings. Hm. Decisions decisions.

(My phone is wrapped up in an otterbox and has survived almost a year being near my child. Do they make otterbox-like things for netbooks? They really should...)

I don't think Happy is the right adjective for Ash Wednesday greetings. Though, I'm not quite sure what would be appropriate...blessed?

I have two Ash Wednesday services today. One at noon and another at 7. Since we are partnering with another congregation I've been pushed out of the rotation to actually participate in the imposition of ashes (3 ministers trump the lowly Seminary Intern). I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities in the future (just not with this congregation).

I am completely distressed at what the Australian government keeps doing. I follow it, but I kind of avoid it too?

Also looking for accomodation. Taken a lot of my dat. My parents are coming to visit me, so I have organised a week long road trip >_< It's partly selfish (I want to see Yakushima! And pat capybaras!) but I want them to see some of the good stuff over here. <3

Aaaaand I go back to work tomorrow. SIGH. I wish I was a lady of luxury. I would take high tea, and I would walk my matched pair of dogs. I would read and write, and I would get my bike fixed, since I wouldn't have to try and do it between going to and from work.

ok. well! that went off on a tangent.

I keep eying the legislation that is getting passed or rejected lately, and it makes me wonder about the state of humanity. I'm not very political, but being a liberal living in Texas makes me think I need to get more informed and go vote in local/state elections. What else can I do?

Other than that, I'm just focused on my own stress - I'm moving in a week and a half and I am sooooo not ready. Why can't I just take the month off work to pack and clean and paint?
