I was going to post earlier today, but I wanted a chance to catch up with most of the entries first.
Wow, there is some talent out there. This season is going to be tough!
Not to mention HUGE!! Has all of LJ signed up for this season yet?*g* Or are the rest waiting until Friday.
Don't forget to post your Topic 0 posts at: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/69885.html
and most important, remember to go there to READ other people's posts. Like I said, there are some really great ones. Some have been mentioned by other people, and a lot of them haven't yet (there are some REAL surprises for me for people that I already have my eye on who *haven't* gotten more attention...)
and sign up to play this season:

I'm asking "veterans" to step up and help some of the "newbies" figure things out. The smoother the process is now, the more fun it will be once we officially get started!
Have a great day!

[come here little newbie... I won't hurt you...]

I hope everyone else is doing well and having a good Tuesday.
Which means there is no point in going GLASSES shopping either.
Sheeh.
Guess I have to sit here and play in the green room the rest of the day.
Anyone interested? Show of hands, maybe? It would be COMPLETELY unofficial, and would be in my own journal...
Also, I am willing to take questions from the audience... you? Did you have something you wanted to know?

If you are so concerned about privacy, locked entry, writing entries of a serious nature that can be read by everyone and the such...why exactly did you decide to enter a contest that is basically JUST THAT.
Is it out of hopes to try and break that fear? In many cases I see the answer to that being no, since there's the questions of "How long do I need to keep the entry public?". There's no real prize in LJ Idol. The prize is gaining a larger reading public and adding people you want to read to your friend's list. At least that's what I perceive as the prize, as well as the experience of the writing and sharing it.
If you don't desire to do that, then I have to truly admit my confusion.
Now I'm not trying to thin the lines. Hell, I'm betting a statement of this ilk means the first week of voting where it matters I'll be slaughtered and shot out of the contest, in which I can decide to "play at home" or not... all on how I feel that week, but I won't be worried if people liked what I wrote that week or if I got in the deadline or if I was strategic well enough to win.
I really like all the new friends I made last time around and to list them all would be extremely hard, but I got what I wanted and I hope when I read people's entries this year and when people read mine, my already too large friend's list will only get larger and more educational.
So, mostly I just want to know what people hope to achieve in LJ Idol, especially those who have the fear of public entries and sharing personal thoughts and feelings in a journal sharing/writing contest.
You can begin to hate me now. Especially since I haven't even had time to read any entries (I like to wait till at least half are in before I start to go through them and I like to also get mine done before that...sometimes...) Although at 70 comments I guess I better get going.
Hell, all I have for mine so far are lyrics from a song... with no clue exactly of how to introduce myself for the 28272782 time.
I haven't had a chance to read any of the intros yet myself (I never read until after I post) except the ones on my friendslist, but am looking forward to doing so while I'm on vacation (OMG VACATION) later this week.
Anyone want to point out some fab ones they have seen so far? I've not been lurking the green room much (cuz, um, yeah, don't wanna get in trouble at work) so I haven't seen comments go by...
AAAAAACCCCKKKKK
