Green Room - Week 1 - Day 7

Livejournal is a diverse and often wonderful place full of interesting characters and dangerous flora.

It is also a place where you have to remember that when you edit your votes, you need to recheck the rest of your selections.

Is it a pain in ass? Yes. Is it something LJ knows about. Yes. But apparently it’s not high on their list of priorities. After all, the majority of LJ uses the poll system to select their favorite My Little Pony.

Which means this particular system glitch doesn’t really impact them, or the ongoing campaign for acceptance of transgendered ponies in slash fiction. Nor does it have any bearing on Russian general elections. With those two markets in the clear, LJ is free to ignore it, spending more time working on the code that makes your LJ more like facebook!

Which means that the brunt of the responsibility for looking after your vote falls on you, the voter. If you decide to edit your vote after you cast it, or think that you might (maybe you are voting as you read…) make a note of the entries that you like, so that you can ensure that all of your votes stay. If they don’t – click them again.

Then check all of your votes before hitting “submit” to make sure that boxes marked accurately reflect your intent.

I know it’s an extra step, but at least it’s not a hanging chad! Or hanging anyone else for that matter!

The deadline to get your vote, your edit vote, your neighbors vote, your neighbros vote, and any other thing you might do with the Week 1 poll , is TONIGHT at 9pm EST!
