Questions Answered and Promotions promoted

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who has been getting into conversations over at the Work Shop!

Some really fun, and interesting, stuff being discussed there!

There are three questions that people have been asking me lately, that I wanted to take the opportunity to address:

(1) When is the next season starting?

When it does. :D

(2) Why did I reverse my previous position on “no content during the off season” with the creation of the Work Shop @ LJ Idol.

There are a few reasons for it actually: Two practical and one emotional.

One practical reason is that over the last year or so, I’ve been hearing more and more about “What’s NOT out there”. People trying to find somewhere that would help them grow as writers, and realizing that Idol really *is* as awesome as I’ve always said that it was. But, there were things that Idol just isn’t set up to do. Having something like the Work Shop in place, at least in the off-season, will hopefully be able to address that need.

The other is that having content like that will draw more people to Idol for the final season. I’m not afraid to admit that was a consideration. :D

The emotional one is based on the donations received at the end of the season. Because of you, I know that I will have internet at least into November. Which is awesome! I wanted to give something back, and the Work Shop was born as a direct result. See, you get something out of it too! ;)

(3) “Hey Gary, your Birthday is coming up on Friday Sept 28th! What do you want?”

That’s the number one question that the people who exist in my head have been asking! They’ve been quite insistent. They bug me night and day with the constant refrain of “What can we get you for your birthday, Gary?”

To answer them – and anyone else who might be asking: Help Idol.

We have a bunch of ways to do it out there, so it’s as good of a time as any to promote them again!

- Get involved with the Work Shop, and promote it (and Idol) to your friends!

- There is a Pay Pal donation button on the user page, but just in case you don’t feel like going “all the way over there”, here is another one:

- Shop at the LJ Idol Amazon Store! Click through there any time you go to buy stuff at Amazon!

- Purchase a copy of Welcome to River Street by Amy Levy, and part of the proceeds will go to Idol!

Any of these would be awesome presents!

Now quick slacking off and get back over to the Work Shop:
