In most weeks we open the doors and let everyone share their opinion on what they like by casting votes.
Sometimes we strip things down a little bit and only let community members vote. They cast their votes for the entries that they have enjoyed.
Every once in a great while though we take that down a even further, and find out what the actual contestants think. It's called a contestant's only vote and that is what we are doing right now!
Some people love it. Some hate it. But it's a vote by your direct Idol peers for better or worse. At this point though, anyone leaving will be finishing at very least 74th out of 195!!! So not bad whatsoever IMO.
This is no "poll" to follow this week, just some simple instructions:
If you are a current contestant you need to do the following:
Read all the entries
The entries can, of course, be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/217210.html
Pick your 25 favorite entries from the 74.
Write them all down in a list.
Email that list to me at firstname.lastname@example.org (If you have some sort of technical issue sending it to my email let me know and I will see what can be arranged. Once I have received your email and have officially added your votes to my tally sheet I will send you a confirmation email.)
Make sure to identify yourself so I can mark you off as having voted.
Last week we lost 6 people - this week - this week, because it's THE MONTH OF DOOM, let's up the ante and make it a round 8. It's the highest stakes yet and the smallest, most focused on each other's writing voting pool. Should make for an interesting end result.
You send me your votes. I add together all 1,850 of them (at least that is what my calculator said it was if 74 people were voting for 25 entries) and announce the results.
The top vote getters will be getting something special. The bottom 8 will be joining the Home Game.
Voting starts now (or as fast as you can shoot me an email!) and ends Monday Jan 12th at 7pm EST OR whenever I receive the final contestant vote, whichever comes first.
(and yes, you *can* vote for yourself - I know that question is coming... and no, you don't *have* to select 25 people* but I'd highly suggest it. If you pick more than 25 only the first 25 votes will be counted. I'll add answers as the questions are asked.
Can you give one person more than one vote. (of your 25)? No. One vote per entry please.
There are some amazing entries this time around across the board. This might be the toughest cut of all because we are going to be losing 8 very talented individuals regardless of the outcome.
Have fun - and good luck to everyone.
