Green Room - Idol Minor - Week 2 - Day 4

The contestant entries are due tonight: https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1053439.html I haven't read the ones that have come in yet, but if last week is any indication, I'm expecting them to be really good.

There is also the Home Game thread, for those who don't qualify to participate for this particular special season: https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1054101.html ("old people")

Vote - Idol Minor - Week 2

A few words from clauderainsrm:

Some of my favorite memories from when I was a kid involve watching old monster movies at my Grandma’s house.

Dracula. Frankenstein. The Mummy. The Wolf-Man, The Invisible Man (My user name is actually a take on the actor Claude Rains) … Godzilla and all of his friends. These were my frames of reference in the world of monsters.

The real life ones were all too real, but I hadn’t really thought of them that way - I just knew that monsters were better than dealing with people.

I also had the ones from Sesame Street, who were helpful and friendly, but still monsters.

I had the ones from books, some good, some bad - but most of them were pretty interesting, and existed in this world that it felt like if you squinted just enough, at the right time and the right angle, maybe you could see into it.

This week, our topic was Monsters. (and for the adults who HAVEN’T read the graphic novel “My Favorite Thing is Monsters”, I highly recommend it)

There are 5 really cool tales from 5 really cool writers, all of them the best kind of monsters that there are. :)

So get out there and read, comment and vote for your favorites!

No one is getting eliminated, so you can vote for as many as you feel like supporting - and PLEASE leave comments so that the writers can know how much you like their work!

The poll closes Thursday May 17th at 8pm EDT

Good luck to everyone!
