Green Room - Week 17 - Day 4

Good morning Idol, and welcome to "deadline day"!

It's your last chance to vote in the next to last poll for Second Chance Idol: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/538253.html
Your last chance to get your entries in for the main competition Week 17: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/538592.html

It's also your last chance at love, it's everything you'll dreaming of. . . (how's that for recent reference Jem? ;) )

It's Week 17 and there are more excitement in the air than a Bain Capital stockholders meeting!

More action than the tornado-ridden Mid-South. (Seriously though, has everyone in Idol from that region checked in recently?)

More topsy than your turvy!

How was your weekend?

***

Our hearts go out to former Idol contestant and long time supporter popfiend on his devastating loss. I hope that everyone's thoughts and prayers are with him and his.

Vote - Week 17

A few words from clauderainsrm:

So here we are. Week 17.

Before we get to "the good stuff", we have the "unfortunate stuff" to get to, mainly two bye-outs.

This week we are losing a veteran who seemed on track to make a run well into the competition, and a newbie who definitely made a mark and garnered quite a few fans along the way.
Goodbye to applespicy and sneakishfrog. You will be missed.

I hope we will continue to see you in the Home Game, and in the Green Rooms!

As for the vote itself -
It was time to step up to plate and pack some heat coming into this round. Hopefully, you did just that.

Because it's a community only vote, so make sure to let people know! With things so close over the last couple of weeks, even a couple of votes can be the deciding factor!

The bottom five, from each tribe, will be eliminated.

That's what I brought. What did you bring?

Let's find out!

The poll closes Thursday, March 8th at 9pm EST
Good luck to everyone!

Results - Second Chance - Week 3

Ties ended up having a huge impacted on the results this week. Fewer people moved up, and fewer were eliminated as a result.

There was even a blunder on my part, by posting the wrong date to decide if you wanted to move, which resulted in barrelofrain actually coming back into SCI, starting next week.

So somewhere in this situation, there are some actual results. Both the good, and the bad.

Those leaving us this week are:
erica_crawford
i_love_freddie
mr_know_body
not_hothead_yet
oxymoron67

Which is a pretty darn serious list of folks to be leaving. They certainly helped set the SCI bar high over these past couple of weeks.
I hope we will continue to see them in the Home Game.

As for the good news, we also have people who have the option of moving up into the main competition. They have until the deadline for the next SCI topic to send me a message letting me know their decision.
There is only one more week left in SCI, so the stakes will be higher than ever.

Those moving up are:

ceiphiedknight
lrig_rorrim
magicmarmot
medleymisty
ravenshrinkery
solstice_singer
talon - who has once again opted to stay in SCI.
yuniebaby

Congratulations!

Topic - Second Chance Idol - Week 4

There is one last gasp for a chance to re/enter the main competition.

Every road must end in a brick wall somewhere, and this is where we separate the crash test dummies from fully functioning air bags.

It's an OPEN TOPIC this time.

So, as little of restrictions that there actually are in the competition, even those are thrown out the window.

Just write your asses off, and hopefully you will be among those moving on in the final group!

The deadline to link your entries back to this thread is Thursday, March 8th at 10pm EST

For anyone who needs some extra help, the Work Room is always a good place to go!

Have fun!

Idol Gives Back

There has been a lot of death lately, and the births in Idol have been too infrequent this season! (Get on it folks!!!)

Many of you know that LJ's own popfiend recently lost his beloved wife Lisa. You can go to his LJ for details. But, obviously, it's devastating. I know there are a lot of people who can't quite wrap their heads around it.

I know, for me, that is just too soul crushing to bear. I can't begin to express my sympathies for the lives she has touched. Or the lives that createdestiny's Dad did. Or anyone else's.

I can't.

But I thought you might be able to do that.

It's a completely separate thing. There is no poll, and it's completely voluntary. But I thought it would be something positive to send out to the universe, if you have to, think of it as "Idol Gives Back":

Write about the people that you love, and how they have touched your lives.

It's something that is good to do every single day, but it's something we don't do often enough.

There's always someone raising people for something, or blog-a-thoning for some good cause. Maybe you could do that by adding a link to the entries and encouraging people to show their support.

popfiend mentioned their favorite charity http://www.stjude.org/stjude/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=f87d4c2a71fca210VgnVCM1000001e0215acRCRD and maybe there is one close to the heart of someone that you love.

I'm flat broke at the moment, but I can raise awareness and spread the word. Hopefully, other people in my own situation will do the same - and those in better places can do more.

Put it out there. Maybe we can raise some money for a good cause, and make something so very senseless into something that brings some positive energy into the world.

edit to add: Leave links to entries only here, to make it easier for people to find them. Sympathies should be directed to the person/people who experienced the loss.
