LJ Idol: a writing rollercoaster with iffy brakes

While I was busy saving this Green Room, you were busy saving the Bridge to Nowhere!

Or at very least, obtaining ear marks for whatever sort of marks on your ears that you freaks enjoy getting! Who knows when it comes to you people, you're always up to something!!

What I am up to is letting you know that tomorrow is the last day to vote in the poll http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/533331.html so if one of your favorites isn't doing as well as you think they should, it's time to advocate for them.

That also means that the two remaining bouncing immunities out there have to be passed off, via an email to me, by one hour before the poll deadline. (so, 7pm EST)

Tomorrow is also the deadline for Second Chancers to get in their entries for a poll of their own: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/533531.html so hopefully everyone is working on getting their entries completed.

Since I missed them over the past couple of days, Happy Belated Plus Sized Tuesday and Bruce Campbell Wednesday! Also, I hope everyone had a Happy National Margarita Day! I'm sure today is something as well. so, happy whatever it is! Mostly though, it's Deadline Day. So Happy Deadline Day!

The bouncing immunities have come to a full stop, with neither of the remaining two being played this week.

But that doesn't mean that the results aren't surprising. They definitely are. But then again, there really isn't anyone left who hasn't put out some of my favorite entries of the week. So, it's pretty much surprises from here on out!

This week, the Second Chancers walked the High Wire.

Unfortunately, some of them fell off before they reached the other side. Which is bound to happen. Thank you to everyone who did come out last week though. I'm sorry to be losing you so quickly.

This week, the five contestants with the highest number of votes will be given the choice to join the main competition, and the five with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated.

It's high stakes, but isn't every week?

One of the things that I noticed last time was how there were several entries that were fairly similar. Obviously, when you are dealing with something that is perceived as one of the more "narrow" topics, you do end up with that. However, this is group of wildly talented writers and unique individuals.

Not to put too fine of a point on it, you're some messed up SOBs. Which means that I know you have it in you to take even something that seems straight forward and make it into something that is very much "you".

16 weeks into the competition, and with fresh writers coming in from Second Chance, who are hungry. . . how are you going to find a way to stand out from the pack? What are you bringing to the table that no one else can?
