Green Room - Week 5 - Day 5

During the course of human events, we come to a time when where we are going, there are no roads. When this happens, we need to look on the bright side of life and find a way to tap into those thousand points of light and build a road. Even if that road is to nowhere.

Over the past couple of days, I’ve had two very interesting (to me anyway) conversations that dovetail nicely into what we are doing here in Idol.

No, not “where are my cookies?” Although, that is a very good question.

- What do you look for in a book? (I’d expand this, for our purposes to “in an entry”)
- What makes you write a particular entry? (What is the reasoning behind it? Does there need to be one, other than “it’s what was on my mind”?

Reminder - tonight is the deadline to get your entries in for this week! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/498756.html

Vote - Week 5

A few words from clauderainsrm:
During your average Idol season (if there is such a thing) there are two periods where things just get tough. Both are the weeks around a major holiday. For anyone with a calendar, and knowledge of holidays, this is one of those times.

So it's not much a surprise that we are losing people before the first vote is even cast. What I think is notable though, is that of the over 40 contestants who are out of byes, that we only had this many!

Still, it's always sad to see them go. We did have a few decide to drop, in order to deal with that pesky "real life". They were: draconic_rogue, jaxadora, sdaisyk and rejeneration

Thank you for taking the time to let me know, and for giving people the chance to say goodbye.

Those who have officially "byed-out" are: euphonious_13, hoyland54, iballs2entrails, i_17bingo, kittyfaelis, kungfufighting,lilly_rose, lyndasty, mrstotten, my_palimpsest, pinkslit, rhondabelle,serve_man, static_abyss, trollied_dollie, wholuvsya and workswithwords

Again, it's a shame. There are a lot of contestants that I have really enjoyed reading, both in this season, and in previous ones. It does go to show though, that you can never really know what is going to happen, and who real life is going to strike next!

For the rest of the contestants, this week has brought something equally inconceivable - a tribal shift, based on what page they posted on. Kudos to those of you out there who called it! :)
The exception being Tribe Redemption, and Tribe 9, which features an entire tribe of undeclared byes. (Which should make the next couple weeks interesting for those who ended up there!)

Since this is Thanksgiving week, I'm giving people a little more to give thanks for having - extra time to read and vote! I know that many of you are going to busy over the next few days, and by all means spend time with your loved ones. Just remember to get back here and spend some time supporting the entries that you love, and are thankful to have, as well!

The poll will close Monday,November 28th at 8pm EST and the entry with the fewest votes, from each tribe (except 9 of course) will send that contestant away, into our Home Game.

Good luck to everyone!
