Eliminations and Run Off

I hate this part of the week. But I also know that it's one of those things that have to be done. . so here I am doing it.

The polls are closed, the results are in and I'm at home today so I have a few extra minutes that I wouldn't have otherwise to say a little something in the process.

It happens every season where there is a week that just completely surprises *me*. This is one of those weeks.

Today we say goodbye to

teenonfire4lord - I'm going to come out and admit that last season he was kind of hit or miss with the entries. Some were much better than others. So I was kind of expecting that this season as well. He really, really surprised and impressed me with what he had to offer this time around. I don't know what has happened in the meantime with his ability, but to my eye he's getting past whatever hump he had and delivering good entries more times than not.

majesticzaichik - Someone else that I rather liked, especially this week. Then again I love reading about history. I had to triple check to make sure that I was reading the right poll because it didn't seem likely. Then again, that's a tough, tough tribe.

kenakeri- Fiction doesn't tend to do very well. Well ok, better than poetry, but in general it doesn't do well in journal writing form. Not sure why. It's always a shame - but considering the quality of the fiction involved, it's even more so this time around.

escorts - I'm glad she was in Tribe 5 so I can talk about her last. Week 0 there was a group of friends who all joined Idol together. Some people liked them, some didn't - but they quickly, IMO, proved their worth as writers and I think ended up erasing many of those first impressions. I say this because of *my* first impression from the first two weeks. I didn't write it down, but I did make a mental list of who I thought were likely to make it into the Top 10. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm completely off. But her name was on the list. IMO, during those first couple of weeks, her entries showed a great deal of promise, and in a field of new and exciting writers making me take notice isn't a small feat. This week's entry was experimental but I'm going to admit that I flat out loved it. Then again I'd probably buy that album!*g*

Goodbye to all of you and thank you so much for playing. I hope you stick around and maybe play the Home Game, because you never know what might happen next and if a window might open for people to return (which has happened in the last 3 seasons at some point).

Now to the run off. We have two talented writers on the chopping block this week. But only one of them will survive to join the others in the newly reorganized tribes. Which one will it be? That's up to the voters to decide.

Voting starts now and ends tomorrow Tuesday Oct 28 at 1pm EDT. Good luck to both of you.
