Vote - Week 10

It’s our first poll of 2020, coming out of an extended break. I figured that would create more chaos than a usual week. No one ever wants to go “back to work”, even if that work is writing their fingers to the bone to achieve greatness.

Or at least greatness in a far away, ever-shrinking, mini-corner of the internet. You know, the place where actual greatness happens...

Based on what I’ve read from this week though, that level of sarcasm isn’t warranted. Because there IS some actual greatness happening here - and you are lucky enough to get the chance to read it!

Which is why it’s important to let other people know about it as well. Don’t keep it to yourself. Share the love!

Before we get to the main event though, there is some of that sad news. We have people who have “byed-out”, they ran out of steam one too many times and have been eliminated from the competition. The good news being that Second Chance is right around the corner. Which is really great news considering how great these folks are - but of course bad news for other people hoping to get in via Second Chance (if they decide to fight their way back in)

As for the remaining contestants, they have stayed in the same tribes they were in last time - named for the topics they chose in Week 9. I’m sure that I’m not going to be the only one who finds it funny seeing that no one in the “Bye tribe” actually took a bye this week! :)

Which means some of those tribes are going to be competitive and some are going to be absolute bloodbaths, where I’m really glad that I don’t have to decide who is going - because there is no “good” choice to make based on this week’s entry.

But 1 contestant from each tribe is going to be eliminated. (for a total of 4)

So make sure to read, comment and vote for your favorites - and as I said earlier, share that love. Let people know about the great stuff you are reading and where to find it!

Some people interpret that as “Get your friends to vote for you”. But that’s not it. Tell them to come and read something cool. It doesn’t have to be your piece. I highly doubt that your piece is the only one you like, and if it is, I’ll be frank, you either aren’t reading other people’s work or you have lousy taste - and I don’t think anyone here fits into either of those categories.

Get them to show up and read, and the quality of the work will do the rest! After all, there was one point where all of you were brand new to this. Something got you interested enough to check out what was happening - and there was something that got you to stick around!

And having people show up before the start of Second Chance, that’s just plain ol’ good timing!
