Green Room - Week 0 - Day 2

It's another day and another anniversary of a tragic event, something that shook the world to its core and pretty much changed everything...

Where were YOU when you first heard about the Camp Crystal Lake Massacre?

The Week 0 topic is over here: https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1062306.html

The Sign Up Sheet is still open, and gaining a few more people every day - so make sure to keep spreading the word! https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1060711.html

How are you doing today? Any big weekend plans?

I will be celebrating my wife's birthday. So happy Pre-Cynthia's Birthday to You!

(Also my niece's birthday, which is tomorrow. We haven't gotten her anything yet. Because the only thing she is into now is horse riding, and she does that all the time)

Happy birthday Cynthia and to your niece! My birthday is Tuesday. My niece’s is too since she was born on my 10th birthday.

Not sure what I’ll be doing for mine - we have a vet appointment for a guinea pig that day too. We took her into the emergency vet late last night, but she seems fine. We probably overreacted, but my boyfriend and I both lost beloved pets recently so we’re a bit anxious.

I did get to see Paris at night, including the Eiffel Tower all lit up. So it wasn’t all terrible. This weekend? I need to work a little bit, have a book due on Monday. But we’ve mentioned going out tomorrow. Maybe to a museum or garden.

I'm at work, which is busier than it used to be. I'm also tired (recovering from a cold) and thankful for the weekend. I'm hoping to get the house tidied up a bit, because three ill people with ADHD have left it in a rather sorry state.

Also, we will probably have 2 monarch butterflies to release tomorrow! It will be like when I was a kid. :)

As I mentioned before, I started sketching down ideas last night for Week 0. Hopefully today I will have time to work on that a little more.

Releasing butterflies sounds awesome! Did you raise them from caterpillars?

When I left my husband a year and a half ago a number of friends were very helpful both emotionally as well as helping me figure out how to do certain things I never had to do before. I know it’s probably silly, but I had never mowed grass before! So I’ve been thanking them all in various ways lately. I’m taking out of my friends out to dinner tonight.

And boyfriend, myself and our kids might go roller skating on Sunday.

That’s my exciting weekend!

From this little post, it appears that you have made great progress in the last year and a half, as difficult as I'm sure it was. Congratulations to you and your family, and I hope this continues.

My weekend will be spent feeding Airmen at our local Air Force Base and working on the Week 0 entry.

And getting ready for a big SCA event next week. I should have been working on that for weeks now...but if I'm good at anything, it's procrastination.

"... if I'm good at anything, it's procrastination." Me too! I've had a lot of practice! ;-)

Feeding the Airmen is a noble thing to do.

I just googled Camp Crystal Lake Massacre. I think I lose geek points for that.

Happy birthday, Cynthia! And Gary's niece!

Today I will doubtless make a few more attempts at an Introduction, do some housework, and might even do some cooking. I have fed the critters and watered the plants, scolded the magpies and given Stubbs two lots of almond. Poor wee guy was so hungry he bit me. Sometimes you look like a nut, sometimes you don't.

Oh good - I’m not the only one who didn’t get the CCL reference! To be fair, I don’t do horror movies, lol!

Happy birthday to Cynthia! I am only doing errands this weekend.
Sep. 13th, 2019 03:17 pm (UTC)
Errands are good. They can lead to all sorts of other things, especially if there are shops and bookstores on the way. :-)

No big plans this weekend other than working on my Week 0 entry, laundry, grocery shopping, and possibly going out to the movies. We also do RPGs on Saturday night (Gamma World, for the curious - I play an esper), so it’s nice getting together with old friends!

Happy birthday to Cynthia and the niece!

Happy birthday to Cynthia and your niece! (Maybe books about horse riding, either fiction or non?)

Doing all right today. Extra sleepy, a bit overwhelmed by chores I'm avoiding, which is only making them bigger projects... sigh. (Why can't they just go away when I ignore them? XD )

This weekend will likely be spent snuggling my little boy, who seems to be coming down with a cold. Probably reading and writing too. I'm so close to finishing The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier, I think I'll get it done today!

I’m glad it’s not just me, I’m always feeling overwhelmed by all the things I’m ignoring!

Happy Birthday to Cynthia and your niece.

My weekend will consist of control of the TV remote and a binge of the shows Hubby doesn't like to watch (he just left for a week long camping/hunting trip), a visit from my daughter and grandson on Saturday, and general errands combined with laziness.
Sep. 13th, 2019 04:27 pm (UTC)

Happy birthday to Cynthia and your niece and everyone else who has birthdays coming up, because I will never remember.

As happens almost every weekend, I'm working. Welcome to life in Foodserviceland (tm). Yippee.
Sep. 13th, 2019 09:40 pm (UTC)
Sorry you have to work this weekend. :-(
Sep. 13th, 2019 08:13 pm (UTC)
I'm starting a new edit this weekend - not as much fun as the detective novel I just finished but much less tedious than some others I've worked on.

And I'm going to Marie Kondo my clothes!! I'll probably be left with nothing to wear but three work dresses and a couple of pairs of shorts, but damn I'll be happy in them.

Oh, and writing my Week 0 entry. Can't forget that.
Sep. 13th, 2019 09:39 pm (UTC)
Marie Kondo! I am incorporating her methods, slowly. My dresser drawers have been Kondo-ed. I fold everything her way now, but sadly I just wasn't up to putting every item of clothing I own on my bed and sort through them. I need to be able to get into bed at some point. LOL! But, she's great, isn't she? And so respectful.

Looks like you're going to have a busy weekend. Love your icon!
Sep. 13th, 2019 10:58 pm (UTC)
I'm going hiking on Sunday. I don't have other plans, and I like that. :)

Happy birthday to Cynthia!
Sep. 14th, 2019 12:58 am (UTC)
Happy both birthdays! Today involved a lot of errands and banging my head against a wall to get a particular thing I'd been procrastinating about finished. But it's done now! Well, mostly done. Ok, it's a first draft. But it's better than existing only in my head as guilt.

I'm mostly working tomorrow, trying to catch up on some stuff. Sunday is a gaming day, though. Hope your weekend goes well! :)
Sep. 14th, 2019 01:11 am (UTC)

Nothing to exciting going on here, I’m ok with that

Sep. 14th, 2019 01:48 am (UTC)

Happy birthday to your niece and Cynthia!
