Green Room - Week 31 - Irma Edition

Greetings from the Eye of the storm!

Or at least that's what the current track is saying it's going to be!

I'll try to post updates here (while I have power) and definitely will be on FB for those who are already friends with me.

With all of this excitement, don't forget the final 4 still have a deadline on Tuesday! https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1045119.html Did I say Tuesday instead of Monday? Yeah, I'm giving you a little extension due to circumstances. I *think* only one other of you is in the path with me, but much further up. Hopefully it will be a 1 by then. *crosses fingers for you*

Hopefully I'll see you later!!

Good luck to us all.

Yes, they are expecting North Georgia will still get hit, but it will be more tropical storm than Hurricane by the time it gets to our house!

Please be safe. I know the Weather Channel sensationalizes some things so that we all stay peeled to their station and app for days on end, but, this looks like it's going to be a bad one.

My brother has decided to wait it out in Cape Canaveral, he's a grown up, but I really question his decision.

My aunts and uncles and cousin are in Deltona. They are staying put also. My cousin lost part of her roof in the last hurricane, so we will see how her house holds up with this one.

My parents, who live on Merritt Island, are actually on a boat in the Atlantic at the moment. But, the cruise they are on is in the Northeast up to Canada so they are out of harm's way I think. My dad said "The storm is going to hit our house whether we are in it or not, so, we are going on our trip!" He's a pragmatist.

I don't know if you've ever been to the Appalachian Mountains, but if you need a place to stay, you can come to my house! As long as you don't mind cats and dogs and kids... We have plenty of bottled water, beer and a grill! We will all get through, southern style.

Thanks for the extension! And take care of you and yours, G!

Looks like it just got downgraded, hope that it continues to slow down!

Just not slow down *over water*, that's really bad. It builds strength.

I just heard that if it keeps on the track to Tampa, that Hillsborough county will be shutting down the power plant tomorrow night. It may take a few days to get it back on...

We are expecting landfall at 2am. Correction: landfall by 8, it should be here by 2.

We are doing OK.

Haven't had the chance to look outside yet. But from the inside, everyone in the house is still in one piece and we have power. Which means we were tremendously lucky.

Wonderful! So glad to hear that, Gary. You guys sure have had more than your share of catastrophe from nature recently. Hope you'll be able to keep updating us. Best wishes.
