Green Room - Week 19 - Day 7

There's only 1 opinion that really matters - mine.

As you journey through life, and have ups and down, just remember that.

And when I say "mine", I'm not saying you should say that to yourself. Not at all. I'm saying "Gary's opinion is the only one that really matters".

So if you see criticism, ask yourself "Is that person Gary?"

If not, then you don't have to pay any attention to it.

If the person happens to be also named Gary, then ask yourself "Is this the Gary who told me not to listen to anyone but him?"

If not, then ignore them.

If more than one Gary told you to ignore everyone but them, then ignore anyone who is not ME. Because clearly they are a cheap impostor.

Accept no substitutes. Only accept criticism from the ACTUAL Gary!

This is going to help with your self esteem and confidence. Because now you know anything anyone else says is absolutely meaningless.

Will I judge you harshly? Yes. When you need it.

When will you need it? When I've judged you harshly. Sometimes when I've just silently judged you harshly. Deep in your heart though, you know. You felt it.

***

I am not judging these entries harshly: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1019025.html

I voted for all of them! You, on the other hand, can vote for the ones you want to support. I will only judge you harshly if you DON'T vote. Because not voting for your favorites is the move of a truly bad person.

Don't be a bad person. Vote.

First!

What Would Gary Do? That makes an interesting life philosophy. Perhaps a new movement could start, complete with bumper stickers and t-shirts, all profits going to The Most High Gary. People would be poring over years of Green Rooms reading Pronouncements, seeking guidance as to What Would Gary Do? I think the greatest advantage would be tax-exempt status, not to mention the adoring crowds.

I can see it now! The preachers of the future: 'As Gary said, in Green Room 10.19.7 ....'

"Because now you know anything anyone else says is absolutely meaningless."

That is very useful. I will henceforth be answering unasked for criticism with "But Gary doesn't think so, so there." There may also be flouncing.

This is bringing out a contrarian streak in me (I'm having a very grumbly day), in which I now want to know what you (Gary) thought various people might do with those randomly assigned prompts from 2 weeks ago.

Since you said you had anticipations and all, well... the stories are written and the poll is closed! So now you can tell us what you were thinking.

Unless it was all lies... :0

I was going to caution you that this sounded almost likely you were questioning The Gary, and that if you weren't careful you could be branded as a disciple of one of the False Garies, but then I realized that since I'm not Gary you should disregard everything I say anyway. So...carry on? This is all very confusing.

Honestly? I'd need to go back over the list to refresh my memory. :)

I do know that most people that I thought *for sure* were going to go non-fiction went fiction instead.

Ha! My current work boss is Gary too, which makes this subject even more applicable.

Also, how is it already 1:00AM on Wednesday? These fast weeks are killing me!
