For those who have never been through an Intersection before, this is the time to explore that writing isn't completely solitary. Having someone who is there to help you through the process, encouraging you - that can often elevate your work.
There was a classic Idol example of someone who let's just say has "struggled" in the past. She isn't around this season, but if she wanted to show up in the future, she has a great spirit about it and is always improving, so that would be great.
She ended up being Intersection partners with one of the strongest writers from that season. It was easily the best thing she'd ever written for Idol hands down. That was much earlier in that season, and there really isn't anyone who fits that bill around right now. BUT it's the same principle.
Do your entries have to be connected to each other?
They can be. But they don't have to be.
How much, or little, you interact with your partner is entirely up to you. The only rule is that you have to have one and that one of you has to do Topic 1 and the other has to do Topic 2. Everything else is entirely up to the two of you to figure out!
NOTE: Topic 2 has changed. Please be aware of that.
