First?

Amazing I actually got in here first today! The weekend was quiet. We went to Mass. MoCA (contemporary Art museum) to see the new exhibit and to attend a concert. It was a nice evening. Yesterday was just a wash as I was tired. It's been absolutely crazy at work (the snake pit). Today I get to go to the dentist to get a crown. Fun times! hope all are well!

My weekend was hectic, what with me having to race against the clock in order to post something before a very specific deadline... only to discover afterwards that THE DEADLINE HAD BEEN CHANGED! I AM *EXTREMELY* PISSED ABOUT THAT, AND INTEND TO VENT MY FRUSTRATION ON THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY IN THE NEAR FUTURE! HE'LL NEVER SEE IT COMING!

And after posting my piece, I went to see GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOLUME 2 in IMAX 3-D with some friends, and that was fun... even though there was a bit of agita at the beginning of the evening: we had a young autistic man in our party, and he wandered into the wrong theater in the multiplex without any of us noticing. Fortunately, theater security found him relatively quickly, so there was a happy ending for everyone...

and for the record, gary, i do appreciate the 'mercy' extension, as my piece did need a little more polish. i know you said that you're ok with people performing such updates after the deadline, but i always feel guilty when i do that. but since you extended the deadline, i was able to polish my piece the way i wanted without guilt... so even though you didn't extend the deadline for my benefit, i thank you for showing mercy on us all.

So you WEREN'T hacked yesterday by some nefarious hippie who added 24 hours to the deadline?

Guess this only means one thing.

Saw Guardians of the galaxy 2, it was awesome.

I'm still suspicious of the mercy. I think it would have taken us below whatever number we had to be at for the next nefarious doings so it's short term mercy for longer term evil. Or maybe I've been playing Idol too long.

My weekend was very quiet, which was lovely.

My most favoritest thing about weekends is sleeping and I didn't get to do much of it so, boooo!

I didn't sleep well Friday night, then Saturday night my decaf caramel frapuccino was definitely NOT decaf so I was up until 5:00 in the morning! I did get my entry finished...but then I had to be up at 10:30 to do family things Sunday.

My 10 year old son had to create a restaurant and menu for a school assignment, so last night we decided to treat my husband and daughter to a meal from his Chophouse. He and I made mozzarella sticks for an app, burgers, mashed potatoes for the entree and melting chocolate cake for dessert. It was a lot of fun buuuut... I have this weird stomach thing that gets me sometimes when I eat too much rich food. My Dr is flummoxed by it - not an ulcer, not my gall bladder - but it really hurts me and keeps me up periodically and, after eating a bunch of crazy food Sunday night, that kept me up LAST night.

So, short story, I am tired. And, hey...
*bats eyelashes appealingly*
If we got our entries in on time...maybe we could get another bye or something to balance the mercy play?

My weekend was fab. The weather was wah-wah but I had a good one. Lots o fun buys at the craft fair yesterday!

Oh and my niece had a baby boy! I'm a great aunt again!

My town held its annual Cinco de Mayo festival and thousands descended upon our little town. When this happens, we have to make a decision: Stay and to the festival or leave town and don't come until it's over because we only have street parking and the masses of visitors take our spot. We stayed for the festival.

I did get two delicious fish tacos and an amazing pineapple drink thing they called a Crazy Pineapple:


It's a hollowed out pineapple with chunks of fruit stuffed inside (mango, strawberry, pineapple, honeydew melon, and cantaloupe). It also had some sort of pineapple juice/seltzer to drink. Sprinkled on top was a good bit of chili powder. I kid you not, the thing weighed almost five pounds.

Next month, my sister is moving from Los Angeles to Philadelphia. She's driving across the country and I'm going with her. We just decided on a basic route. It was either north through Utah and Colorado, maybe drive up into Wyoming, or it was Rte. 66. We're going the northern route.
