Results - Week 15

Good evening.

I said that tonight felt like it was going to be rough, and it is.

There were two polls, with two sets of results. The first to close was the Contestant Only voting, which was extremely close. There are 4 contestants leaving us tonight, from that poll. Literally 1 vote saved a couple people from that fate, because it tied it up, pushing the number above the predetermined threshold.

They are
and yamyam_kat

There are also 2 contestants leaving us from the regular poll. Which also came down to a single-vote - it was also impacted by the Contestant Only vote in that there would have been a Write-Off, however the other person in the tie was already technically eliminated.

Which means it comes down to 2.

and kfp_rawr

Goodbye to all of you, and thank you for coming out this season. I really hope we will continue to see you in the Home Game (especially our Young Idolers, I know people will be looking forward to seeing more from you!) and around in general, rooting for your favorites!

I am sorry to see these contestants leave us. I will miss your voices, and I hope we will still hear from you in the Green Room, and in the Home Game. I have to be honest, this was the scariest Vote Week I have experienced in my two seasons with you all. It was tough, and the results are tough, too.

I sort of thought my number might be up when I looked at the polls today.  I enjoyed this go round, I even avoided dramallama.

I am going to keep reading and voting.  Congrats to the rest of you guys on the top 50.

Hey, you go out in good company, right?

I really enjoyed your entries this season, both the frequent dryness and the risks you took in poetry, darkness (humorous and not), and unusual approaches.

I hope you're pleased with your work-- it was something I looked forward to every week. :)

Aw man - some awesome names on that list! *hugs* all around!

Wow, both of our youngest writers are out. Sorry to hear that. I've enjoyed reading all of the pieces of these participants so far.

I want to thank you for reading and commenting on his entries. KFP has enjoyed hearing all the feedback!

This was, indeed a rough week and especially with both of our young writers leaving. I hope they don't see this as a negative event, they both did extremely well throughout and certainly getting this far is an impressive achievement for anyone of any age, let alone theirs!

Good wishes and much encouragement to yamyam_kat and kfp_rawr, for very promising futures in writing, and hope to see more of your work soon!

Thank you on KFP's behalf. He is in school right now, but I will seek his response when I can. He has enjoyed all the feedback!

Oh, well. I guess it was my time. It was challenging and fun as always.

I want to thank all of you for reading and commenting.

As always, I enjoyed reading your entries this season! I hope things improve in the RL department, as I know they've been stressful and challenging in the last couple of months.

Sad for folks leaving especially as this week got away from me other then writing the actual piece and now we're here already with coming up with a new one.

If there was a way for Real LJ Idol to be held in a house where we were isolated, boom, but it's not... so... yeah.

This was a really scary week!

Some of my faves are no longer with us, honestly I'm shocked at who left the table tonight, and it makes me particularly sad that our two youngest members are out. I loved their innocent creativity. I think this probably speaks volumes about how serious things are about to get!

Am sorry to see anyone go. To our youngsters, kfp_rawr and yamyam_kat, you did very well and your parents should be proud of you, I certainly am. Please continue to learn and grow your imaginations, and hearts- for YOU are our future. Hugs and peace~~~

There're so many awesome names on that list. This week was so hard — first the contestant only vote and now seeing people leave. I'm going to miss all of you.

And, to our two young ones, as everyone has said, you both did so great!! You made it so far! I hope you're both super proud of yourself!

Those are some of my favorite people. This week was tough voting wise as well. I really enjoyed reading the youngsters and selfishly hope they continue to home game. Thanks for some amazing reads all of you.

Hi everyone!

This afternoon, I had a couple of minutes to chat with yamyam_kat before heading off to work. She was sad about the elimination, but I explained that both she and kfp_rawr were the youngest writers to make it to week 15, and that she should be proud, and that her father and I were both very proud of her.

She is definitely looking forward to participating in Idol Jr again, and she is really thankful for the support and love she received on her stories.

Recently, yamyam_kat received a special award at school for Creative Expression in writing and the arts. She (and we) were very proud of this, only one child per class receives the award once a year. So she will continue coming up with stories and original art.

So thank you for supporting her.

To all of the others eliminated this week, I'm sorry to see you go. Please keep writing!

Awwww, that's so awesome about her award! Congratulations to her! Very cool!

There is only *one* "young person" who has gotten further in a season than the two of them. She was 15, and got to the Top 40 (or so), and was an absolutely gifted writer.

Being able to accomplish what they did speaks volumes about their talent. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

(and tell yamyam_kat congratulations on her award! That's awesome!

What a week!

Apr. 24th, 2017 02:47 pm (UTC)

KFP and YamYam should be proud lots of adults who take writing very seriously left with and before them.  I voted for each at some point and never just because of their age.

Sad to see all these people go. Especially the youngsters whose writing was incredibly impressive! Keep on trucking!
