Green Room - Week 14 - Day 10

We are going to an Escape Room tomorrow as a "team building exercise". With the current dynamic of my team at work - I suspect we might die in there.

So if anyone has any good tips, please let me know. Because they waited so long to set this up, we ended up with the most difficult room (18% success rate) and none of us have ever done anything like this before!

Should be "fun"!

The one thing there is NO escape from is that the poll is closing at 9pm EDT on Friday. So make sure to get your votes in, and let other folks know some of the cool stuff they might have missed (based on current vote totals). Sharing the love is what this is supposed to be about, well that and fear. Fear is definitely involved.

Think outside the box. :-)

Good luck. I've always wanted to try an escape room.

My department tried to do one of those last year but there was a huge waiting list. It was also surprisingly expensive for our mutual blood. Nevertheless, someday I'd love to do one.

Hope you have fun anyway!

I'd love to do an escape room, but expensive. And also I would die.

This is how I'd get out of an escape room:

1. Smuggle in a chainsaw.
2. Cut a hole in the wall.
3. Go through the hole.
4. Find the idiot who thought this would be a good idea and Have Words with them.

Good luck escaping!

I've done one of these with friends and we got out. Bring a pen and paper if they let you - writing some stuff down helps.

Hey you guys, apropos of nothing, there's a Star Wars trailer now!

Why do so many team-building exercises sound like The Stupid That Must Be Endured?

I remember an early X-Files episode where Mulder bailed out of the back of the sedan heading for a corporate team-building exercise. His teammates were all, "What's wrong with you? This is important for morale!" and his response was, "Building forts with desk furniture? That's ridiculous. Now, that weird thing I saw off in the trees there? THAT's important. I'm outta here..."

I saw that you escaped Gary.

I was disappointed. That's not as fun and getting stuck in the room!

I'm so confused, is this a recent post? Or is my LJ playing tricks on me? lol

I hope the Escape Room was fun. I've been wanting to try one out for awhile. And if you hated it, just think of it this way: At least you didn't have to pee your pants while in there. (That was a punishment in "Impractical Jokers.")

So sad to see kehlen_crow leave us. I hope real life lets up on you soon. Best wishes.

binaryorchid I have enjoyed so much of your work this season. I hope you stick around for Home Game.

cheshire23, mac_arthur_park, mamas_minion, rswndrlst, and zhent I'm rooting for all of you! Best wishes. I'd say may the best Idoler win, but you're all so very good. Hugs

Did you mean to post this in the Results thread?
Apr. 15th, 2017 03:05 am (UTC)
I actually did, then realized what I had done and deleted and reposted here--I have a rolling learning curve. ;-)

It's fine to post over there, just not as a response to my comment. (that's where the Write-off contestants will be posting)

Thank you! I'll copy/paste back there again. Thanks, Gary.
