Green Room - Week 0 - Day 4

So, how are you doing? No. Seriously, how are you?

LJ has always been home to opinionated and extremely diverse folks - so regardless of where you landed in the US election, I hope you *personally* are doing well.

That said - you have that deadline for the Optional Week 0 topic TONIGHT! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/947581.html is where Newbies link and http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/947738.html for Veterans. Still a lot of names I'm not seeing. But then again, it's optional, so that won't count against anyone.

But still, it's always good to get into the practice of meeting that deadline. The time is coming when you won't have that luxury! (We WILL have byes. I'll announce how many and when they can be used when the time comes).

I'll also be announcing the close of Sign-ups soon. So if you still know people who want in, it's a good time to let them know: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/945807.html
(I know I personally have been emailing with some folks who keep asking if there is still time. Yes, but that window is shrinking)

I'm looking forward to the first poll tonight! Even if it's not an elimination.

First! Everything is fine here, or will be until the next prompt, when panic will set in, followed by anxious writing, and then the deadline, which is aptly named. And yet, I willingly choose to participate. Go figure.

Hi! Definitely feeling better today. Still shaking my head but moving forward.

On a positive note I won concert tickets to see the Felice Brothers tomorrow night! It'll be in a new venue so it'll be interesting. I've seen them a couple of times and they are really fun!

have a great day all!

Going out to a concert does sound like fun, and it's always nifty to see new places. I hope you'll report back after the fact.

1. Amazon package delayed, so canned cat food did not arrive.
2. Mimi scowling at me like kibble is an insult.
3. Trash men put my can back in a place I can't get to it.
4. Adjusting to life in a wheelchair sometimes sucks.
5. Beautiful article in Brevity today by our very own whipchick.
6. Has anybody put together a shareable spreadsheet, or is that what I'm working on today?

7. Who brought breakfast?

I get my cat food (and dog food) from http://www.chewy.com

They are really efficient.

Does a new topic come out every Sunday? Or does that vary?

I think all of America is recovering from the election. Some are coming out of mourning, some are recovering from celebration.

Oh good, I'm glad you're going to post a poll. Even if it doesn't count, it's fun to observe the changing numbers. :)

I'm doing well. I just realized that we get Friday off at work, and that's a major YAY!

Feeling better than I did yesterday, for sure.

Currently very tired, but I'm about to go to bed for a few hours to try and shake it off.

Take care of yourselves everyone!

Life is good enough. Still gotta get up n make the proverbial donuts. Still gotta feed and pooper scoop the cats. Still got students to teach and bills to pay. One foot in front of the other. Carrying on and all that stuff. Sinus infection thing is going away. Weather in Ohio is stilll amazing for November. My house got painted. My kitties are cute. I'm proud of my kids. Can't complain too much.

I'm doing relatively well, all things considered. I went to see Steve Vai perform live last night -- He's celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the release of his album PASSION AND WARFARE, so he played all the songs from that record, with a few extras pieces thrown in.

good luck everyone! And have an absolute blast!!!

My hubby and I are each taking a bit of a wicky day today. I'm still feeling just sick enough that I don't want to risk getting the kiddos sick and Rick... well, he's just mentally exhausted. So we're taking a day to spend together. Not thinking about housework, not thinking about things we should do. Just watching some movies (right now, "X-Men: Apocalypse") and spending time together.

Because sometimes, that's what you need.

Hello all.
Today is weird, the database I do most of my work in is out for upgrade so my regular work day is entirely wonky.
As is everything.
I'm thinking of taking a mental health day tomorrow, since there's not much work I can do anyway. Or I could start it right now. hrmmm....

It's slow here in the snake pit as well. I'm glad I have tomorrow off. I'm taking 2 weeks off at christmas and can't wait. Tonight I'm taking all 4 animals to the vet! Should be interesting!

I'm mostly out of the shock/denial stage and into grief. So, feeling really sad for our country, for its future, and at the idea that it seems as if a lot of people would have to be really angry and hateful to choose someone so unqualified and racist to run the country.

Think my entry is about done, so will probably post by the deadline. Formatting (or rather, DE-autoformatting) will be involved, and sometimes that takes awhile. It helps that I just did that last week, since I posted a poem, since I usually forget the magic "keep my spacing" HTML code.

I was just on a conference call with a group of advocates across the state. We are really afraid for social service programs in the next several years. Although Reagan was much more charismatic than Trump is, and people liked him in many ways, He dismantled many of the programs which helped disenfranchised people and it has taken a long time to get back (and still there are so many issues). Medicaid will be one of the first programs to be slashed I'm afraid. It's going to be a very stressful time.
