Green Room - Week 25 - Day 3

Life in Florida during the hurricane season is anything but boring! :)

If Colin stays on track, it's going to miss us but tropical storms/hurricanes/etc have a way of keeping people on their toes! (and of course there are plenty of "other people" who will still be in the path. Just not me!)

The topic is due tonight: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/937944.html

So hopefully no one else has anything coming at them between now and then!

How are you doing today?

I'm OK.

They let us out early to beat the storm home. Which was really nice, and although I did get wet, probably not as wet as I'd get if I tried to come home now.

Yikes! I'm not a big fan of extreme weather. Stay safe. :-)

Looks like tomorrow might not be so bad like they first predicted.

Seriously.

Of course, to be fair, it's not like I've been deliberately stirring the pot up lately. So maybe I have to get back into doing that. :)

Heh, it is a bit quiet in here. I'm doing slightly better today than I have been the past six days. Crazytymes on the mountain and I can't even begin to explain the small town machinations. I think Cormac McCarthy could pitch it as a novel - The Town That Took Itself Too Seriously. Association elections are Thursday night and sabotage, subterfuge, injured feelings, and proxy voting along with open carry laws are par for the course. I have no idea what will happen. I am resigning...and that has acted gasoline on a burn barrel fire.

But...other than that. It's hot. My "real" job is keeping me busy and I'm waiting for a break so I can begins storyboarding my new story!

Stay dry! And stay safe!

OH! And I finally got to see The Witch last night. That would be a GREAT film to discuss from a writing standpoint. It's subtitled A New England Folktale and I think the film is so simple that it would be a fun one to use to break down the idea of plot, character development, and denoument!

Anyone?

And if we want to avoid spoilers, I'm going to post about The Witch tomorrow in my journal and open the comments up to meta and discussion.

Here's hoping the hurricane passes you by and blows out to sea.

Yeah, we only got bits and pieces of the tropical storm. It's funny, because every year about this time we have them. But (1) Florida has broken it's record for "how many years without a direct hit from a hurricane and (2) our emergency services guy at work also works on the Emergency Planning committee for the county. So he's constantly giving updates and stressing the importance of taking it seriously.
