Results - Week 16

The last few hours of that poll = crazy! It came down to a couple votes in the last few minutes, that changed the results. It's why things aren't done until I hit "close", and no one is "out" until it's official...

It's official now.

Congratulations to everyone who survived it, and who have made our Top 21.

Unfortunately, in order to get there we have to lose two of our own.

Two really talented people, who I have loved having as part of the competition. I really hope that they continue in the Home Game.

Goodbye to:

alycewilson
favoritebean

and thank you for everything!

You know, I stopped looking at the poll a couple of hours ago, and I knew it was close. And some weeks are harder than others when the results get posted.

But I cannot for the everfuckinglife of me figure out how alycewilson got eliminated on that entry.

At.

All.

Word. It was inventive, it was full of feeling, and it had stories at two different levels. Excellent all around. :(

Two people whose entries I have really enjoyed. :(

alycewilson, I have loved a lot of what you did this season. The entries about your mother were heartbreaking.

favoritebean, your historical fiction is great, and I'm sad to see you go. I'm glad you're on my flist so we can keep up with each other! :)

Thank you. I have found this season yo be very cathartic. Not at all what I had thought I would be writing, but I am glad to have had the opportunity.

I am so sad to see alycewilson and favoritebean go this week. I had hoped it would get easier as time passed, but it isn't. It isn't at all. This week was so difficult as everyone seemed to bring something special to the table.

Please, please homegame...please!

Thank you. *hugs*

I will definitely try to homegame. This week's pretty packed (I've been out of town, so I have a lot of catching up to do), but next week, I definitely hope to.

I look forward to reading your entries the rest of this mini season.

OMG Alyce?.. How? I really thought I was gone, had my exit post readied and everything. I'm so sorry to see my fellow Philly girl go. She has so much talent in her pen. I will miss her stories, and tales of KFP.

favoritebean, big squishy hug. I thought we'd be making our exit into the sunset together, but as the cliche goes- fate had other plans.

and I'm really confused as to whether I should be happy or sad, so yeah... Big hugs again and Peace~~~

Thanks so much, but there's no reason to feel bad. The polls are what the polls are. I've been playing this long enough to not get too bent out of shape about it.

I will keep reading, commenting and voting. Maybe, if we get some free time within the next several weeks, and it warms up, I'll head to the Heinz Wildlife Refuge with my new camera, and KFP and I will go on a photo walk. If so, I'll share the results on my LJ and put a link to it in the Green Room.

I have enjoyed every single one of favoritebean's entries. She's a strong writer who can write long and not lose momentum!

Thank you for your kind words of support this season. Reading this (and some of the other comments) brought tears to my eyes.

Mind if we become friends?

So I just got back to the hotel a short while ago. I'm sad to be out of the game, but I'm grateful both for the support from friends and fellow teammates. I'm also going out with good company.

Reading all of the comments here in the GR thread made me cry a little.

I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, and if any of my topics *ahem* ever come up this mini season, I'll consider contributing a home game.

Good luck, everyone, and thank you for sixteen weeks of excitement.

You know what's ironic? At the start of the season, I wanted to team up with you, but then I learned that you were on a team already. So it's funny that we should be going out on the same week.

I have loved your historical pieces, especially the one about coal miners. I did something like that myself one season, so I know how hard it is to win votes with it. Somehow, it seemed that the pieces I spent the most time researching -- and was therefore proudest of -- failed to get the support I wanted to see.

However, you should keep writing it, because there is a market for pieces like that. In fact, if you wanted to, I bet you could aim for a middle-grade market, because I wouldn't be surprised if there'd be a real interest in history made accessible to young people through fiction.

I am realy proud of my writing this week but sad to see anyone go.

It is now when I feel LJ Idol gets frustrating as I hate doing the vote thing. I also hate having to do reading in a quick time.

I don't have that time usually. Especially my weekend's lately which have been very busy.

I hope to do better. I'll try. I promise. I hope you'll all keep reading me too. Those of you that do and not get annoyed when I comment of prior entries cause I still want to read everyone.
