There are some days when I hate this job.
This is definitely one of them. Because I have to break some bad news.
I’d much rather be announcing that I will eliminate 50 of you in a poll, or that I have “accidentally” confused the swimming pool and the shark tank again, while “apologizing” that the “Idol family swim party” ended so badly!
Today, I’m announcing that two Idolers need to drop out. The first one is
pen_name. She will definitely be missed, I was looking forward to the development of the story and the big reveal… but that will just have to wait for a time when she has more time. Everything is OK with her, other than the things that are so very obviously wrong with her! : )
The other one though is a bit of a shock to those who have been following along this season:
oneonthefence is going back to the hospital for the next couple of weeks, effective immediately, and won’t be able to continue to participate. If you’ve followed her throughout her time in Idol, you know what a rollercoaster her life has been. One of those old wooden coasters where they haven’t repaired it in 60 years or so…
I mentioned it, in a comment, a couple of days ago – but there is a fund set up to help with her hospital bills: http://www.indiegogo.com/helpingoutmand i for those who wish to participate in that.
For the rest of you, there is still a deadline to meet! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/61 7893.html
And when you get the chance, be sure to check out what Second Chance has to offer: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/61 7661.html They had their own tragic drop outs this week, but don’t think you are going to get the same break that they did! : )

Had a horrible night last night involving sick cats and the house I rent being sold. :( Working on entry though, so that's always good.

I wish the best for both, whatever their circumstances may be.
Thank you, to those who read my entries and commented. Thank you to those who voted, not just for me, but for my fellow competitors.
And thank you, Gary. It was fun.
I'm sorry to hear about
Did not get my writing time this morning and it is making me very cranky.
Also, adjusting my child to the concept of "the rules and routines here are different from the ones at daycare" is very frustrating. What makes it even more frustrating is today I feel like my second is kind of a second larger child I also need to adjust. Although to his credit, he did listen and respond in an adult fashion to my concerns and frustrations.
I'm trying to decide if it's even worth trying to focus on writing now because I still have maybe an hour I could devote to it. Hmmm.
Would a little writing help, even if it's not as much as usual? I'd do a bit, because it would help me, but it really depends on whether it would help you. :)
Haven't been around the green room much the past few days. I've missed you guys. :D
Meh.
Wish me luck that I can work something out in the next 10 hours.
Also, guys, I have a very important question: why is it only Thursday? This week has already been four weeks long.
Also, for those of you who don't know yet, I have an interactive entry this week, and I'm hoping to have as much fun with it as possible before the deadline. So, if you have the time, please participate! It's a story-go-round, and I'm curious to see what kind of shenanigans everyone can imagine up.
My entry is posted as of yesterday; now I can breathe easier and do a little pre-poll reading, whee.
Oh, and we had an Earthquake Drill at work earlier this morning - it was not fun trying to wedge my fat butt underneath my desk! It's great fun when you're an 8 year old hiding from a nuclear bomb, but not so fun when you're a zaftig woman! Ah well, I managed to survive. :)
Wish I could help but I have limited funds and birthdays around the corner - as in the 9th and then on march 3rd.
But I will try to send good gibes.
I would send happy thoughts but my happy thoughts have a lot in common with the ones Gary talks about here and judging from the looks I get not everyone enjoys those sorts of thoughts.
I'd pegged her as a finalist in this thing, too!
Hope things smooth over for both of them soon.
Sorry about missing comments for last week's writings, guys. I don't comment on EVERYTHING to begin with, but I was on my ass with a bug and basically slept or did as good as when I wasn't at work. I got to maybe three people and had to give up.
Fortunately, this week, I can comment and feel less like a social recluse, as I'm quite done being ill. Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing what writing comes of this prompt.
