If you already have it in, do yourself a favor and start reading and commenting! There isn't as much to read as there is in a "standard Idol season", but there's still enough to keep you busy. Starting early is the best way to make sure that you don't end up waiting for last minute to vote!

I am at work and just set up my first experiment :-)

I am not getting results from this one, it is just a trial to see if I can get some stuff to happen. But I have been at work for 3 months, so it is good to just start something!!

It is 6F according to my weather thingy. I don't want to go out to my car and let it heat up because the cold will rush in and hit me in the face, make my toes tingle, and my hands will get numb. I wore a full set of long underwear yesterday because I dreaded how cold it would be (and was) away from my work area :shudder:

I spent most of yesterday afteroon/evening writing my entry underneath a heated throw. I almost didn't want to make dinner!

It's -5 degrees here and I'm already awake, because someone decided to get up with the baby at 6am--and then pass her off to me so he could go back to sleep. I'll be trying to do more reading and commenting today. But I still have a headache like yesterday so who knows.

My goal of reading all the Idol posts even though I'm not playing? Totally has not happened yet.

My other goal of reading through the first half of my book to see what parts of it are too dumb or word-bloaty or wanky? Getting there. I made it to chapter 12 before I was like "omg, what?" So I guess that's good? Of course, then I had "really, me?" moments for the two chapters after that but hey. At least up to chapter 12 might not suck? Haha.

Time to get back to that now.

Reading my writing back often has several cases of 'really, me?' moments. Sometimes in my notes, I've even written 'what?!' next to something particularly 'really, me?', which means on a third/subsequent read-though, I'm both irritated and amused by my ineptitude.

If memory serves me correctly*, every winner of LJ Idol has been a woman! So whether or not they're 'approved' for frontline LJ-combat, it appears they do particularly well in it! Much like the women on the front line in the military, I'll bet ;)

LJ Idol is definitely a harrowing experience - we eliminate people left and right (and up and down sometimes, too)! But I'll take my chances here on the front line - it's so much more fun than sitting at home, watching TV, and eating Cheetos in bed...

Gotta get out of my jammies and toddle off to work before I'm late (again). TTFN, Greenies!

my husband eats cheetos (amongst other snacks) in bed and it drives me crazy. Hey, I guess that could have been my topic. LOL

I just don't get the whole eating in bed thing. I find it quite disturbing actually but since Breakfast in Bed is supposed to be a good thing, perhaps I am crazy!

My brain is still waking up, but my entry is in, and I wrote some words for a not-Idol thing. I'm working on a second draft of my NaNoWriMo novel, which is about hot aliens who have sexy mind control powers. Yes, it's an erotic novel, haha.

The narrator loves to break the fourth wall (and doesn't hesitate to tell me I'm stupid), and the story also has humor (or so I hope), as well as drama. This time around, the characters have actual emotional depth. So my story is an "erotic sci-fi dramedy with metafictional elements." That's a thing, right?

You know what's funny? I used to list "smut" among Genres I Would Never Write. Things change, haha. (Still never gonna be into writing Westerns though.)

I would have procrastinated writing the entry due this evening... and then had to go in for emergency root canal today, and since there are no byes - it would have been bye-bye-Spydie thanks to the Percoset happily making its way through my system right now.

I had started reading all the Topic 1 posts, but then this week kind of kicked into high gear... and yeah.

I had a Home Game idea too, but I don't see that happening either.

I also have some thoughts I was considering sharing, but I'm in a grumpy mood and perhaps it's best I abstain from talking about them right now otherwise they may become misconstrued.

Just thought I'd pop in and say "hi" at least :)

I have to say, I'm anxious about my entry. Mainly because I know people who dislike me and have called me crazy or psycho or whatever will read it and point out to others so they can say how right they were. I also worry about it changing the way that people I know see me.
