As the votes for SPIRIT OF IDOL keep pouring in - one question remains: Who transformed the votes into a liquid, and who is going to clean up all of these puddles on the floor?
Seriously folks - only turn your votes in as a solid! It's easier that way! It's also easier, in the long run, if you actually submit all 15 names, in order of preference. That way it's easier to do the overall rankings. Because, as much as you think you have the one and only choice - and it should be obvious to everyone else, your #1 pick is going to be someone else's #15! It's just the nature of humanity.
If zebras could pick, I assume they would have the same problems. Only that would be the nature of zebraity. Or maybe creatures with stripes.
While we are waiting to hear about that though, there is something a little more pressing/time sensitive - the new topics! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/58 5760.html
If you are still struggling, there is a Work Room up as well: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/58 6211.html
How was YOUR weekend? Mine had it's up and downs - but OMG the ups included one of the best moments in my life. :) Well, other than eliminating you folks. Because that's something that I also enjoy a great deal! :P

Tigers have stripes!
I hate it when the kitties are sick. Opie did something to his eye this weekend, and he's been walking around like a pirate for two days. I was ready to get him to the vet this morning, but he's using both eyes this morning. It never got goopy or inflamed. I think his brother might've swatted him. He has a little pink scratch on the side of his face too.
Nope, I'm not feeling punchy at all. Why do you ask?
I've been very spirited, I promise! Just on the inside.
Though already on Monday, the hits keep on coming. I couldn't trust Annabelle to not mess with her bandage and she was having issues, so I took her to the vet and that obviously upset my boss. So my stomach is a mess from stress there already. Annabelle re-opened wounds this weekend and if she keeps it up, she will never get better.
I just wish jobs could understand these things better :/ I make up the time, I'm stressed beyond belief, I'm doing what I can, you know? But it's not enough *sigh*
But the weekend? The weekend was wonderful :)
I'm sorry you are so stressed out but I'm glad you at least had a good weekend.
For the first time in, like, ever, I had all my Idol posts up by Sunday morning. Even with ONE post, I never manage that. No idea what was different this weekend, but it was awesome because it meant I got to spend actual time with my son all day Sunday. Loved it. <3
Of course, now I've been sweating it out for a day because my posts are just hanging out in the ether, not getting comments. Everyone else finish writing so you can validate meeeee! ;-)
I'll read them and give you some validation when I can. :)
Last night we went to eat Chinese food with his family and their significant others (which at this point means there's nine of us when we all go out together), and then his middle sister made him a peanut butter cheesecake with brownies baked into it and it had peanut butter cups on the top, and also ganache and buttercream were involved. And the crust was really tough, but I don't remember what it was made out of.
Then they all hung out for a while, and man - I'm a youngest/only, and I tell you what - I'm not used to the noise of all those people. John's younger brother and the middle sister especially can get loud and dominating in conversations. I retreated to my computer, and then once they left I listened to some nice relaxing music.
ALSO! No sign of the ulcer pain in DAYS now. :) YAY!!!!!

We might go see Amazing Spider man
Takota is a big fan of the web slinger. I wonder if hes a web swinger also?
I had a super busy weekend. Saturday I helped Rich move and settle in to his new place alllll day, and then we went out to celebrate another friend's engagement with a fancy dinner. After that, there was frantic writing. Sunday was art fair, lunch out, kitty sitting, laundry, some other running around town errands, and then even more frantic writing. Really, it's been rather a lot of frantic writing.
I read the one Home Game entry I knew about, which was fantastic and used the most daunting of the prompts:
My running has been way down because of the heat (as in, once in the last 5 weeks?!?), so I ran on Saturday to make sure I have a base for our upcoming vacation. My "new route through shaded neighborhood" proved to be... new. By 11am, that area is no more shady than my neighborhood. Also, there was some getting lost, even with a map. But overall, stop and start, there were four miles of overall running, so yay? \o?
I also continued introducing my son to my complete boxed set of Monty Python's Flying Circus. OMG-- how have I never seen "Twit of the Year" before? People have mentioned it, but apparently I never caught the rerun as a teenager. The "everyone turning into a Scotsman" sketch is within the first 3-4 episodes (shocker), though my son is still eagerly awaiting the Pirhana Brothers' saga.
My daughter (*sigh*) does not so much find the show funny. We'd have to pull her in for the physical humor stuff, I guess. The irony/satire/etc? Mostly not her cup of tea. :(
Yeah, the heat has not been fun. We had a storm this afternoon to cool it off some. Wow - you must be all in shape and stuff, and hey - exploring can be fun, so woo new neighborhood!
Oh wow - that sounds like fun with the Monty Python. I've only ever seen the movies - of course I've seen the Camelot one so many times, lol.
I've been thinking about that a lot lately, about differences in tastes. Hmmm.

Thanks to all the folks who have sent me advice & support. One of the ways my depression manifests is by making me think that nobody would give a crap if I just disappeared. Thanks for helping proving my fears wrong...
