If you fell asleep early last night, you missed all the action!
Seriously, why did you fall asleep? Those dreams about kola bears could wait a little while longer, don’t you think? Maybe they would have been a little better on their water skies, or at least found a better handler than your ex-landlord!
Those of us who were actually among the awake already know this, but for those who just couldn’t resist their meeting with Morpheus – there were results: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/57 8560.html (that shocked the pants off of most people! Or at least that’s what they told me when I asked them why they were wandering around the Green Room without any pants!)
and a new Topic: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/57 8872.html and a Work Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/57 9110.html
There will be a Home Game thread a little later. But for now, that’s what you’ve got!
Since we are now at the TOP 25 – those still in the competition can grab their icon now! http://ljidol.com/wp/wp-content/upl oads/2012/04/lji.s8.25.icon_.gif
The last week has been bad news for friends and people related to friends – so I figured that I’d throw out some GOOD news for an old friend (well, technically it’s her husband, but obviously it impacts both of them).
The first feature that he’s worked on with Pixar is out! It’s called BRAVE.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard about it. But I know I’m excited to see it, and I sure Jeremy would appreciate more people going out to see it! So… go see it this weekend! (or as soon as you can!)

I have no idea what he actually did, other than "animation" (and they have been talking about it for what seems like forever!)
I mentioned in my journal yesterday that my cat wakes me up every night, but my dog is so good and never does that.... I jinxed myself. Annabelle started whining at 2 am. I thought she needed to go potty but all she wanted was more food. So it wasn't that bad, but still.
TGIF! I'm so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Though I also need to write. I really don't have any idea that's sticking right now. I have a few I'm meh about, but nothing that cries out to be written yet which is odd. Help!
My last cat would pounce my butt and attack my legs. She would do this when I was overdoing things and once I sat down she jump on my lap and lay there until she felt it was ok for me to get up.
Have you ever had any sort of sleep disorder like a sleep apnea?
As far as starting things with the other cat - that is territorial /dominance issues that are not being ressolved thanks to Annabel.
That should settle down soon.
Brainstorming like crazy on this new entry. I think it's partly because I tend to keep most rants behind a f-lock and politics on my Facebook that I'm finding this daunting. Hopefully fellow Idolers can give me a hand in the WR.
The heat in Toronto finally broke. It's blissfully cool now. Thank God. I'm getting new contact lenses today, for the first time in a year (I had to wear glasses to give my eyes a rest from really old contacts that I was wearing - constant infections, so I wore them for over a year and now I'm ready for contacts again!). But now I'm relaxing with some chai and toast and finding it in me to start the day :)
1. Wear shirt that says "Life." Hand out lemons on a street corner.
2. Run into a store. Ask what year it is. When someone answers, yell "It worked!" and run out cheering.
3. Major in philosophy. Ask people WHY they would like fries with that.
4. Make vanilla pudding. Put in mayo jar. Eat in public.
Well, I had an empty mayo jar last night, so I made some pudding - it's actually a mix of vanilla and cheesecake-flavor since plain vanilla was too yellowy - and brought it in to work today. I put my initials on the jar lid and stuck it in my team's mini fridge. Although we are going out to lunch today for our staff meeting, I figure at some point after lunch I'll get out the jar of faux-mayo and eat it at my desk, and see what passersby say. It'll be fun!
If my kid gets sick, I am making my parents come over here and get up with him all night. Okay, I'm not but I really wish I could. :(
will be buying on DVD however. That way my children can watch it and I do not have to.
I am treating myself to a delicate little libation and trying to figure out. If I should use my powers for good, evil, or simply to try to get laid.
(just teasing)
I've downloaded A Feast for Crows, but I need to slow down because for the first time in all the years I've had audible, I am down to zero credits in my bank!
This would be funny if you knew how many times they've written and said, no, seriously, pick something or your credits are going to expire.
Damn George RR Martin and his verbosity and 2-credit-costing books. :)
This was one of those weeks that "stole away" some of the things I really value about Idol, i.e., feedback.
With SO many entries to read, people are less prone to leave feedback (some had to force themselves not to comment, just to get through the entries). Plus, people already tend to comment less on "email-voting-only" rounds. Finally, we don't see the voting results on email rounds.
So, the aftermath feels like I wrote a lot of stories, and have NO idea how they did in the voting or what most readers felt about them. That makes me sad. And I know that everyone else is going through the same thing.
There was one entry this week that I felt was possibly the author's best story this season. He knocked it out of the park. I'd be surprised if his story wasn't in nearly everyone's top 5 for that category, but now he'll never know.
If you'd outdone yourself like that... wouldn't you want to know? :(
I am so excited to see BRAVE! A mouthy redhaired heroine? Where was she when I was growing up?
I always made the princesses in my coloring books redheads when I was a kid (oh, hell, if it isn't canon, I still do--and yes I'm 39 and still color, why do you ask?). Which would have been okay....had I not done it in the commemorative Disney 'Sleeping Beauty' coloring book when she went to see the movie in the theatre.
Good luck, y'all!
On a totally unrelated note, pineapple sherbet makes a very refreshing late lunch!

"No. You don't read news. You read stuff you agree with. Just because somebody's shit smells like yours, doesn't mean it's not still shit."
I am going totally polemic, because I do anything I want in public on my journal! Yeah boy! :)
It should be cool though. I don't anticipate causing any flame wars or anything. Idol people are cool and, at least so far in my experience, able to present different views in a positive respectful way where we can all learn from each other.
