I'm trying to get work done at work, but mostly planning my weekend vacation. Heading to the mountains with the hubby to celebrate our 10th anniv! How I'm going to get the Idol reading, writing, and voting done, is still a mystery... but it's going to happen somehow!

Good morning Green Room! I am on my second LARGE caffeinated beverage of the day and it's not even 11 AM here yet (and I usually don't have caffeine). Why, you ask? Because I slept less that 4 hours last night, and I'm crashing hard...zzzz... Whoops, sorry! :-/

Work is killing me this week. I hope I even get a chance to write a post, let alone read and vote. Ahhhhhhhhh.

I've been very absent of late, but since this (last?) week isn't a proper vote, I thought I'd try and read some of what was written. I haven't read much yet, but I really enjoyed the intersection by n3m3sis42 and mstrobel (you know, if there are other people who don't have time to read everything and want to check it out).

Also, posted this in the work room earlier today but I don't know if anyone's still checking there...

I know these are technically last week's topics now (this is why we home game... we don't have time to post on time), but if anyone's interested, i_17bingo and I did a home game intersection. I wrote about a mermaid character I created last season for Bridge, and i_17bingo wrote a piece inspired by mine for The Straw that Stirs the Drink.

And that's what I've been doing today. Now it's time for bed :P

I am NOT spazzing out! :) I learned my lesson last week, that ya'll are cool and I just have to be patient. Also no poll to watch and worry about, which is good because I do not need more stress this week.

I am home for lunch! :) That means today is already better than yesterday, work-wise.

I have two referrals from the General Sims Chat on my WordPress blog this morning. Good to know I'm still a topic of discussion there. Sigh.

I have been researching this week's topic. Hoping to start writing something tomorrow night. Which we've had to cut down to only going out to eat two nights a week, and we decided to go last night instead of Friday, so I'll be home and able to write tomorrow night. I want to do nonfiction soon, darn it! I think I'm going to have to go with fiction here though. Maybe even another Seth story, because Seth is a scientist when he grows up. True, he's more into biology than physics, but he's still interested in physics.

I've read some awesome stuff! I haven't read everything yet, but from what I have read here are my recommendations.

lrig_rorrim and jem0000000 wrote a wonderful little story together. I want to live inside lrig_rorrim's brain! Also she was the bestest partner, and I hope Jem liked working with her as much as I did the other week.

ellakite and tigrkittn created a cool little story with hauntings and a very interesting school counselor.

java_fiend and porn_this_way both created lively vibrant characters with great voices.

I'm pondering eating some chocolate, and taking over the world. Not necessarily in that order.

Tonight the hubby and I are planning to see the latest American Pie movie. This weekend we're heading to Indianapolis to go to a dinner theater, and relax in the hotel's indoor pool.

What am I doing? I'm wishing michikatinski a very happy birthday today!

And I'm getting ready to face a killer work day today. The work just keeps on coming... Which I'm thankful for a job, sure, but it's so boring at the same time. I wish I could be doing something more interesting. Like writing my Idol entry.

Java came over last night and we watched Survivor and Criminal Minds while I studied a bit for a test I'm taking this week to help me go back to school. Apparently I remember more of that stuff than I thought, so that was nice. Plus it was nice to have company to watch TV with in the middle of the week, especially since it was him :)

I have two extremely different story ideas as possibilities for this week. One I'm working on right now, and the other is kind of sitting in my brain waiting for if the first one doesn't work out. I may try out the second one at some point, anyway, even if the first one doesn't explode.

I don't want to give away what the plots are, hence the possibly-confusing nature of this comment!

Also, I had kind of crappy sleep yesterday, waking up in the middle of the night/early morning a couple times and falling asleep by accident twice. So, that sucked, but in terms of total hours I DID get enough sleep, I think.

In TMI News, I had BAD cramps that contributed to the sub-par sleep. Screw you, period! I hate you so very much. >_>

I'm on hold with medicare, which is pretty annoying. They have the worst hold music EVER, and I'm only calling because they screwed up entering a claim into their system. *sigh*

Otherwise, I'm just working from home and watching kids, the usual. I need to make it out to the grocery store this afternoon, because we're down to our last cup of milk. I need to start buying two gallons at a time, because these middle of the week grocery trips are a pain in the neck.

Oooo. Is any of that medicine for allergies???

Going to a Women's Seder at work tonight in celebration of my thirtieth birthday. I feel so mature. :-D

I have three long shifts ahead of me starting today. Maybe more; I'll find out when the new schedule comes out. The best part is where I work until 11pm on Friday and start work at 7am on Saturday. Sleep is for the weak, apparently.

And it looks like my grandmother is going to need to stay with us for a while, which means that I have to give up my room, which means that all my free time in the next few days will be devoted to getting my total train wreck of a living space ready for grandmotherly occupation.

what kind of medicine?? >_>

'tis another thrilling and exciting day here in Ye Olde Salt Mine... my day started at 6am with some dude in Florida all pised off because he'd been trying to reach us for an hour and nobody was answering... said "must be nice to have such casual hours." When I explained that being in California, I was 3 FREAKING HOURS behind him, he was confused... and got more pissed off at me. What an idiot. I'd love to stick him in the eye with a spork. Repeatedly.

Ugh. Annnnnnnnyway. Still haven't come up with bupkis for the new prompt. pixiebelle has thrown a couple of awesome ideas at me but I can't make them work yet! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!

I need more coffee. :-)

I swear, I must have done something to tick off the Universe or the gods or what-have-you.

Yes, I'm being cryptic. No, it's nothing earth-shattering, nothing Idol nor LJ-related. It's more annoying than anything else. I'm usually not one to complain, but, as one of coworkers said recently, "Sometimes you can't help but do so."

I have been working on a tribute to a favorate author - a bit of fan fiction that combines two of her series called Dragon Prime.
I tend to think the title gives it all away but is to perfect not to use, besides it is what she would call it if she wrote it.
I am also plotting my home game entry for the week's topic - a little comparison /contrast peace . I am going to have to pull out one of my Dune books for it to obtain a spelling or two. Lucky _The Hunters of Dune _ is handy.

Hello GR! I'm feeling ridiculously sleepy today, but I managed to get a rather unexpected amount of stuff done - dropped off a sweetie at work, ran some errands, got groceries, took care of kitty stuff, wrote a first draft for "the weak force"... I'm thinking that with the rest of today I'll try to finish the shawl I've been crocheting for a friend. It would be nice to have that finished up, so I can play with other projects and not feel guilty.

Just made awesome cheese bacon, onion, peppers; quiche, and a wonderful recipe from 'funeral' specials!!! LOL. called raspberry coconut slice. But it smells divine, or should I say heavenly?
Beautiful autumn day just wish 50% of my time wasn't spent washing up or being tied to the kitchen.

I'm home on the last day of my holidays, nursing a puppy who has just been desexed. Poor puppy. Poor me!

Chained to the lounge though, so no excuse for not writing. Although TV is soooo thrilling at midday during the week, it is distracting me lol
